We have a new minor update coming out to both Android and iOS. If you haven't already seen the app, check it out in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
One of the most exciting features in this update is the Content Sharing feature from the website being respected in-app. So compendium content shared with you from one of your campaigns on the website will now be usable within the app. This feature will be supported going forward with future major updates, such as listings (spells, monsters, items, etc) and character management.
See the change log for your specific platform below:
Android
- Content Sharing via an active campaign is now respected in-app.
- New Experimental Setting: "Use SD Card Storage", this will move all your installed books onto your SD Card and future downloads will place them in this location. When toggling this setting, content will be moved to it's new location. This setting only appears if an SD Card is present.
- New Setting: "Large Downloads require WiFi", this setting prevents the app from downloading the books when a WiFi connection is not present.
- Bookmarks can now be edited and rearranged via a long press. Editing allows renaming and moving the bookmark into a folder.
- Images can be directly bookmarked via the Image Viewer screen.
- Improved app startup time and the app will no longer prompt for permission during startup; instead, it will only prompt for permission(s) when it is necessary.
- Settings are now accessible via the Login screen for users that are not logged into an account.
- Fixed a bug where app would not properly start without an internet connection in some scenarios.
- Fixed misc. bugs and various UI tweaks
iOS
- Restore Purchase button added to the My Account screen

A lot of these features and bug fixes were thanks to the very active community we have here. Be sure to leave your feedback and bug reports on our forums and if you have any feedback directed at this version in particular, feel free to comment below.
This is HUGE for my players. Looking forward to the bright future of Dndbeyond’s app.
Wahooo! Thank you! Content sharing is so nice to have enabled finally!
So just to clarify, since I've got the PHB, MM, XGtE, and SCAG (all purchased in full, not just pieces of them), and a Master Tier subscription, I can now share the compendium content with players in my "Content Sharing Enabled" campaign(s) on the mobile app.
That right?
EDIT: So they can download the app now and view all that shared content?
Can you specify which items are to be shared? Right now it's all or nothing.
Dave
Awesome! Can you fix the missing chunk of DMG Chapter 7 now?
This is awesome - but again: I don't want to share the campaigns with my players - just the rules....
Wow, that is awesome! This will find use at my table almost immediately!
Bookmark sync between devices would be great.
And recently all my bookmarks vanished. 💥😑
I really wish there was a Windows 10 app in addition to Android/iOS. I have two Android devices, neither of which are used for gaming. My two 10" tablets are both Win10, and two of my 8" tablets are also Win10. So is the computer that hosts our VTT, the computer I'm driving it from and the laptop that runs the music.
Android/iOS support is useless for my needs. Sure, some of my players use Android/iOS devices, but since I don't (and am not going to, because I don't need to buy another thousand dollars worth of equipment just to play D&D), this doesn't help any of us.
The issue is when I'm somewhere without internet. I can't download my books to have access to them. I use Chrome (because Edge is awful), and if the internet is available, it's great. I still can't download the books through Chrome, only the apps can do that.
When I'm working on something, and the internet goes out (happens fairly regularly), I have to stop working on anything D&D-based.
Ahh gotcha. Yea thats understandable. I don't see them jumping onto the Win10 project any time soon. I think BadEye said the plan was Android/iOS, then Amazon Marketplace down the line, and no plans for Windows devices at this time.
You could always look into getting an Android launcher and the Google Play store on those devices. Thats what I did to my Kindle FireHD because I hate the FireOS. Never tried to do something like that with a Windows device but there might be a way.
So appreciative of content sharing. And oh man, listings! Character management's gonna be great when it comes, but as a DM, I am super-hyped for super-fast access to stat blocks!
Keep it up folks! You're doing great!
Thank you for the SD-card update. For those of us with an old phone, this is a godsend.
When can we access our characters from the app??
YES!!! this is the update I was looking for! Content sharing just took this from 4 stars to 5! Can't wait for the character management implementation, that is going to be great!
Thank you!!!
