Today's update addresses a bug identified when switching subclasses, as well as a few updates to Matt Mercer's Blood Hunter:
Bugs:
- Fixed issue where changing a subclass removes all spells for that specific character class, including any spells they should still know after the change. After this fix, when changing/removing a subclass, you will maintain any spells your character should still know, and remove any that are specific to that subclass removed. For example, changing from a Warlock's The Great Old One patron to The Undying would remove Black Tentacles, as that spell belongs to that particular subclass expanded spell list.
Content Update:
- The Blood Hunter has been updated to be consistent with its current version
Do players need to do anything for the changes to take effect on Blood Hunter characters already built?
And here I was, really excited because I believed this update was about the new Character Sheets! XD
Same.
Or support for tracking Druid polymorph forms. that used to be a thing we were going to get, right?
I was hoping for the Druid forms and the pets too. I guess another update it is, hopefully, the next one!
Is it likely that we might be able to have organisational folders for our characters tab, so if we use the character creator to design npc allies, we can sort them by allegiances and organisations in our worlds.
Are we thinking some time this month for the new character sheets? I’m DMing a few games and currently I have to use other tool sets online to get half decent sheets!
I can only imagine Dndbeyond devs are under staffed atm, I do hope they get round to it soon
Curious, what is the cadence on the release/integration for UA content? Was excited to try to use the character creation to play around with the new sorcerer UA and found it hasn't been loaded.
UA material is available here the week after WOTC showcases it.
I mean, there are numerous apps made by teams of one person in their spare time that have better character sheets with options for pets... at the moment Microsoft Onenote is better than DND beyond because you can add feats outside of RAW or whatever (if your DM gives you anything like a title or whatever), you don't have to create a custom item to add "giant troll tooth" or whatever to your inventory, and you can track companions
my nephew made a web based initiative tracker for a school project that allows you to add conditions and keep track of pets and an inventory, and has a button to just add another blank page of information that you can title and fill out however you want... so I'm positive it's something D&D Beyond could handle
Why don’t you add a scanner to scan in the barcode of your books you all ready bought
Bar codes aren’t individual to the book, so that wouldn’t work :(
That sucks, coz have alot of the books and then I can’t use it on DnD beyond
They won't do that because D&D Beyond isn't a WotC product - its owned and run by Curse. Curse doesn't make any money off of physical copy sales of D&D supplements. If DDB was an actual WotC product instead of just a licensed product, then maybe we could see this kind of thing.
Also, its worth nothing that there is no major book publisher in any space that offers free ebook versions when you purchase a physical copy, and thats when the same publisher owns and controls both formats! And its not like DDB is just an ebook version of the physical supplements - its a very complicated web application built on top of a custom database that has tens of thousands of data points that it needs to be able to interact with.
I know not everyone is in the same financial decision so for some it doesn't make sense to migrate their campaigns to DDB - you can keep using OneNote or Evernote to manage your notes and use a PDF like MPMB or something like that.
