- The 'Feedback' button on each page of the Encounter Builder
- Taking the Alpha Survey by clicking on the button near the encounter name on the builder page
Thanks again for your help - we look forward to the alpha and the updates to come!
Yeeaaaaaaasssssssssss!!!!! This has excited me for sooo long!
This has me super stoked! I am wondering however, because it's not mentioned as in scope or out of scope: Should we be able to add homebrew monsters right now? I can't do it, but I'm not sure if that's a glitch or if that's intended.
When you say it’s available to subscribers, does that mean only the alpha version or will it only be for subscribers even after future updates?
The Alpha is for subscribers of any level to test. I'm fairly certain they've said its for all users once it's officially released. Their efforts, so far, have been to have the toolset be usable based on how many of the sources you've bought, rather than a subscription tier.
Will any encounters created in the alpha be lost in future updates, or is it safe to frontload a tonne of work now?
Is there a plan to create encounters that are linked in the sources at all? It would be great to have the encounter prebuilt for campaigns!
Terrific news! I plan to play around with this quite a bit, especially once it’s out of Alpha with the further campaign integration. For now, I’ll see if I can get what I need out of it to prep for upcoming battles. 😈
Yes. That's listed among the things specifically left out of the Alpha.
Ooooh, HP and Initiative tracking are coming soon. <3
I have tried the encounter builder and it's brilliant for what it does right now. I used the feedback form but I was kinda let down that I couldn't input feedback by typing. Thanks for directing me to the forum!
Wow this is extremely useful to note down while I make my campaign.Hope you continue ideas like this on anyway see you in the next news update....BYE!
Is the changelog going to reflect the updates being done to the Encounter Builder while in Alpha/Beta?
They've said that once they move on to beta it'll be available to all users.
Yes, that is the plan.
We will release the Beta version of the Encounter Builder to the entire D&D Beyond community, all users.
Will there be a way to add a monster/NPC that is friendly to the PC's as an ally, so it doesn't add to the deadliness of the encounter?
We are looking at the best way to determine that in future iterations. Kind of a Hostile, Neutral, or Friendly marker.
Ok awesome. I used the encounter maker and had added friendly NPCs and noticed there was no option. Thanks for the response!
So you are saying Dice Roles are not yet available for this section? Bugcrowd we will get to it. Thanks for the feedback.
Awesome as this is, it's been over six months since we've had any significant updates to the character sheet, which has to be core to the DDB experience for the majority of users.
Can you please indicate when can we expect to see more progress there?
It's indicated in the feature road map that that'll go into development sometime after the character sheet beta comes to the mobile app, which is soon(Character sheet updates are: Character Builder Overhaul, General Features System, and in the longer term Inventory Management Enhancements and Temporary Effects System). The full feature roadmap is here: https://trello.com/b/vIKxuEs8/dd-beyond-feature-roadmap. To stay up to date on Development, there's a Dev Update stream every Thursday 9 am PT on their Twitch channel(https://www.twitch.tv/dndbeyond). Hope this helps!
