I haven't seen a Sage Advice on this so wanted to pose an idea to everyone here and see what they think.
Agile parry allows the Kensai monk to ad +2 to their AC if they make an unarmed strike as part of their Attack action on their turn. I have allowed the party's monk to apply this bonus if he makes his unarmed strike on his bonus action. I consider the bonus action unarmed strike part of his Attack action, similar to the offhand attack of someone using Two-weapon fighting.
It's the "as part" that makes me grant the AC bonus. The unarmed strike from either martial arts or flurry of blows is part of the Attack action since they can only be taken if you take the Attack action.
I think the intent is that Agile Parry reflects withholding your weapon and using it defensively while striking with your body. Since you can only use your weapon on your Attack action and not with your bonus (which must use your unarmed strike anyway), you aren't sacrificing anything to gain the +2AC on the bonus action strike.

It's not. The Attack action is the Attack action and the bonus action is its own thing.
Also, what ratwhowouldbeking said. The whole point of the ability is that it's a trade-off.
