Aasimar and Tieflings feel straight up built for Warlocks, especially with the Celestial patron being a thing now. I chose Aasimar, because it's the Warlock idea I most want to explore, with the angelic guide being the Celestial patron. Or a Fiend patron if Fallen.
I also like the idea of using Warforged in a non-Eberron setting, where its patron would be its own architect.
Additionally, I like the idea of using Warlock mechanics to express an alternative take on the Cleric/Paladin connection characters can have with their gods.
Wizard: Yes. I cast the Wish spell and I wish that everybody loves me!
DM: You transform into an irresistible, magnificent feast. It was so great, all who participated in devouring you tell of the joy they felt with tears in their eyes and all who hear the tale only feel sorrow that they weren't there to eat.
I've got a Tiefling Hexblade that I really like, and I'm playing her dark and shifty. Going to dip into Rogue for Swashbuckler. This will make it more reasonable for her to eventually open a brothel in town...
I also rolled up an Aasimar Celestial Warlock, as a backup in case the above dies... This one will be more light, nobility, truth and healing.
I have a warforged who woke up in the mournland alone except for his future familiar(see link). His familiar taught him how to draw power from Cthulhu. Since he doesn't officially get a familiar until 3rd level, it's his invisible (or turned into a centipede) friend until third level and has no game effects until then.
Since my character was just created he's unfamiliar with everything in the world, but his familiar is his best/only friend and father figure. It creates an interesting dynamic. Also the familiar may have caused the day of mourning - it's not really clear yet.
Also warforged envoys can have a +2 con, +1 Cha and bonus skill, language, and tool, plus good armor class

Kalashtar Hexblade for me. You get the telepathy of the GOO patron for free, advantage on Intimidation or Persuasion almost guaranteeing successful rolls, and being tied to the spirit of a quori lends itself well for patron RP, and/or especially if multi-classing Sorcerer as well, to help explain where the natural magic came from.
I'm partial to Changeling. You get the bonuses to CHA and your choice DEX / INT but you also get Change Appearance. The Skill choices are great for most any Warlock as well.
I am playing a Variant Human Archfey Pact of the Tome. Took Magic Initiate as my feat and Book of Ancient Secrets as my Invocations and i have a good amount of Ritual Spells I can cast along with all the Cantrips i could ever want.
It's nice when your physical appearance is every bit as nebulous and alien as your patron..."Devil's Sight" is also a handy Eldtritch Invocation to make up for your lack of Darkvision.
Fiend - Tiefling
The additional tiefling sub races let's you create a convincing and intimate tie to your Patron...or perhaps a Patron who is rival to your native bloodline!
Celestial - Aasimar
For the same reasons as tiefling...your angelic guide and now also be your Patron.
Hexblade - Aasimar
Specifically, a Fallen Aasimar...taking up a menacing shadow-weapon allows you to insert the reason why your aasimar has "Fallen" from grace.
Archfey - Half Drow
Drow have it rough...half drow have it even worse. Hated for a blood-tie to a predominantly evil race, perhaps they sought an Archfey for their mystical ability to charm others, so they could be hated slightly less.
Undying - Human
When your a race that is surrounded by other races living a 100 plus years regularly...who wouldn't want a shot at living longer? Because that's bullsh*t!
Currently playing a fallen aasimar whose patron is one of the Great Old Ones, pact of the tome. He was born with almost no voice, so he made a pact to improve is voice so that he could cast magic. He got just enough to get by, though he's still barely audible, so he relies heavily on Awakened Mind to communicate. He uses it as an intimidation tactic when interrogating, along with prestidigitation and alter self, along with his daily Visage power if needed.
He's also a bit insane, talks to himself in Primordial, and blames his patron for his brother's death.
I am making a character based off the mos popular one.
Elliott Neve
Half Drow
Halfling all the way!
No love for Variant Human? Aasimar make great Warlocks...especially the Fallen!
Currently playing a Half Drow ArchFey Bladelock and loving it.

I noticed Tabaxi is missing.
DM: Are you sure?
