One of my players made a pact with the Oracle of Ellyn'taal, she would learn the secrets of life, death and undeath. It would remove a portion of her mind. Nothing she really needed.
It was mostly just to make room for what it wanted to put in there. I was still working on what that was exactly, when she got herself killed.

I like the Celestial very much as well. If I get to play a warlock with that patron, they would be a cynical, selfish person, who made a "deal with god" in a moment of crisis. I guess I like the warlock to chafe at their pact at least a little bit.

- Our group found a very powerful, sentient artifact weapon embedded inside a block of solid quartz. As the only member of our party who wasn't interested in grabbing stealing the thing, it spoke to me telepathically while I slept. It offered me power in exchange for me being its eyes and ears in the world.
- Since agreeing, I have since discovered that the weapon belonged to a Solar (now dead or a prisoner of a demon lord in the Abyss . . . more to come. :)

I'm enjoying the fiendish pact my tiefling warlock made. I am amused that its foundation is a misbegotten love directed towards the patron (who they met in a tavern)
I'm playing a half-drow FeyLock in the Tal'Dorei setting (from Critical Role) and enjoying it very much. My Archfey patron, Lady Elmenore the Unforgiving, Matriarch of the Seelie Court, is definitely up to something... I just have no idea what she's planning yet!
Both of my warlocks from full campaigns have been Old One Warlocks of the same Old One, a living plane referred to only as "The Presence". The first time, it was in a friend's homebrew world, the second time was in the Forgotten Realms during Storm King's Thunder. In the second one, the DM and I agreed that everything from the first campaign, during which he had also been a player, had happened somewhere else in the multiverse and I was possibly the reincarnation of my previous character (Liam from the second campaign is stated as having looked like Lee from the first).
My last Warlock was a Tabaxi with a Pact of the Blade. Played him with an Archfey Patron, and eventually got a Vorpal Sword. I enjoyed playing 'Chesh' very much.
I have a GOO warlock with Cthulhu as a patron. He's not aware of me at all, but I have a mini- Cthulhu familiar Link who is my best friend and father figure, but may have caused a cataclysm (Day of Mourning in Eberron). I love dropping a cloud of darkness on enemies and then messing with their head with telepathic communication.
Great old ones of course! (if you are one of my players please don't read this....)
It's a custom patron that one day (hopefully) I'll get to play. Ever wondered the difference between mutation and evolution? Be it yes or not none could comprehend on how could a creature like this maintain it's power... An ancient Aboleth that managed to consume the mind of an Illithid... it started to experiment on itself by mixing psionics, magic, biology and construct, mutating in a manner that could be very well considered something transcended the word abomination... but the madness hasn't stopped there as it decided that the first thing to take on was a beholder and attempt to consume it's mind as well.... But what happened afterwords? did it succeed? Did it fail? no one knows... but one thing is for sure... it is attracting those who seek knowledge of power and things beyond the multiverse.

Born under the watch of something from the furthest corners of the far realms.... It knows all.... it sees all... and it asks: "What is it that you want to see?"... and my answer is... ALL"
Whenever I make a Warlock it's Hexblade time! The Hexblade was my favorite class from 3.5. I'm actually sad that they made it a subclass. Would have loved to see it as the Arcane "Champion" (think Paladin and Ranger Spell growth and Hit Die... Eldritch Knight doesn't count!) in this edition.

I'm inclined to agree. As it stands, they've made the Hexblade a slightly over-powered single-attribute Warlock archetype. D&D doesn't need such things.
I personally think that they should have made the ability to use Charisma on attack and damage rolls, instead or Strength or Dexterity, an Invocation available to all Warlocks. :)

my favorite is probably the Archfey, closely rivaled by the Great Old One. I had a campaign where my warlock was a simple farmboy who happened to come upon an odd glade of trees during an outing, and he walked into what was essentially a giant black glass temple in a pocket dimension ruled by a war-obsessed archfey we named Scathach. The Archfey misinterpreted his explanation as "I have been looking for your glade for years and finally found it!", and she decided to reward his 'dedication and work ethic' by making him pact-bound to her as her vassal and fey warrior.
The DM kind of played her like a military parent, it was pretty cute. I got the feeling she actually cared about his well being and I started to roleplay the warlock as being rather devoted to her even if he's not really cut out for his line of duty.

It's ok Ranger, you'll always be cool to me.. Unless druid gets another use for its wild shape charges.

A chance to consider your preferred god-like Patron.
Do you like the Faustian bargains of a Fiend Pact, even if they're likely to betray you?
Or the mercurial nature of the Archfey, who might use you as their strategic tool one moment, then completely lose interest the next?
Or perhaps the Great Old One, a being who may not care at all about you, or even know you're there...or who might make you do some odd stuff....
What's your favorite, what's your Patrons name, and what do they get out of making a Pact with you?

I really like the Celestial patron. I like the concept of working with your patron instead of against your patron.

I like the fend. I've got a violinist who is repeatedly possessed by his patron, because his father lost in a violin duel.

Haven’t used this account in forever. Still a big fan of crawling claws.

new to this, what add-on to I need to open up Queen of the Raven to use as a patron?
Regretfully, the Raven Queen patron did not make the official release. However, a homebrew version likely exists.
Alternatively, the Hexblade can be loosely related to The Raven Queen.
Thanks
