I have purchased the PHB via the digital marketplace but noticed that when I select another Patron option (besides the default Archfey) the flavor text for that section does not update with the most recently selected Patron. Posting a screenshot as an example.
Hey, I noticed there was only the fiend too but when I looked at the basic rules (the rules we get for free) IN DND Beyond, it says you can pick between the Archfey, Fiend, or Great Old One. If we are able to see three of them without paying, why do we have to pay to use them?

Hey all,

Oh, very good eyes! I mark this as Bug. Thanks!
I see that this thread is marked as resolved, but I am having this same issue now. Perhaps had something to do with the release of Xanathar's?
I actually just noticed this under Rogue/Thief as well. Confirmed with Bard. Seem like it might just be a "3rd level archetype" bug?
I have to ask the staff about the exact wording on this.
I also had the same issue recently so it's still happening.
D&D Beyond can be used for free and contains information from the following "free to use" sources published by Wizards of the Coast: D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, and Elemental Evil Companion.
Content from other sources, such as the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, or Monster Manual, will need to be purchased from the Marketplace or accessed via another user sharing content with you via their Master Tier Subscription.
Bumping- Also seeing that it will always mention Fiend in description regardless of patron selected.

The game's not a game / Invaders from here corrupt / You must fix the Bridge.
That line of text is taken from the Player's Handbook (PHB). As the Basic Rules go, only the Fiend is free. Any other is not.
