I was answering someone's question on sleep and long rests, and realized the Basic Rules as presented here have not been updated with all of the official PHB errata. I know the errata themselves just reference the PHB and not the basic rules document, but in some cases they clearly apply to the same rules. And some of these things are kind of fundamental, such that someone playing with the non-updated Basic Rules is basically playing a different game than someone with the PHB — that can't possibly be the intention.
Can the Basic Rules here be brought up to date with the errata?
A long rest is a period of extended downtime, at least 8 hours long, during which a character sleeps for at least 6 hours and performs no more than 2 hours of light activity, such as reading, talking, eating, or standing watch.

I just started day dreaming about how I go get lattes with Jeremy Crawford and discuss rules, and then catch up with Tito and Perkins for a afternoon jog. Fortunately, staff do have an in, so we can prod them to pass the feedback on. :D

I think this is the fist time I felt the Facebook-like reactions would have been nice to have in a forum XD

Compare for example Long Rest:
In the PHB, you have to sleep:
while in the Basic Rules, you don't:
Hi mattdm,
the problem is that even the Basic Rules is an official document from WotC. If they do not modify that, DDB can't change it.
Last update to the rules is from... SOME time ago... (05/13/2015)

Can someone at DDB bring up the issue to WotC, maybe? I assume you have a greater "in" than I do.

Needless to say, if Badeye asks them and they give us the go-ahead, we'll be updating them for sure.
