A variety of drawings that one can use for character differentiation when skimming through their lists so all "Bards" do not have the same Avatar. (This is for the DM -NPC Creation. (Just an idea)

This might sound obvious, but it would be nice to have an option (checkbox, toggle, etc.) to auto-roll when you use an ability. That way, if you're going purely digital, you can just click/tap on attack with your longbow to have it remove an arrow from your inventory and show you your attack and damage roll. If you like to physically roll dice, though, you could still click/tap on attack with your longbow to have it remove an arrow from your inventory without giving you a pop-up with unnecessary info.
I'd definitely like to see some class-specific sheets. I'm currently playing a Battle Master fighter, and not only is a bunch of my sheet cluttered with stuff i'll never use, namely spells, there's not really a place that i can write down my maneuvers and superiority dice effectively.
Should be printable in a Nice format for players with No access to site during play . Print-outs Should have all necessary info about attacks spells etc.
I manage a lot of websites using various CMS systems. I love being able to grab a block of sports headlines and throw it next to a Sudoku puzzle with the weather underneath. I can crank out a basic page in just a few minutes and then go back and "polish" it when I have the chance...
That said every character sheet is probably going to have two layouts, one for online and one for print... I for one would love it they were modular... Break the sheet up into to discreet blocks (A stat block, a skills block, a weapons and attack block, several different spells blocks (spell book, prepared, spell summaries, spell descriptions, spell slots etc.). So when I pull up my character sheet it's the online version using the default layout (which automatically doesn't include sections that are not needed for my class/race/ect). But if I wanted to I could edit the layout and move the blocks around and get what I wanted and then save (and share) the new layout (Mihale's low level sorcerer layout #1). Further down the line you could choose different "styles" for different blocks and make them resizable.
Likewise for print, have a few default layouts (summary, complete, verbose) so if I want to print out a 1pg. sheet of the most critical information I can. All the way upto a multi page listing that includes full descriptions of every spell, animal companion, familiar, and item. And then allow us to modify those layouts and save them.
Don't expect this right off the bat, but definitely a wishlist item.
I'd love to see all of the RACE and CLASS abilities linked on the character sheet.
I'm guessing that clicking on the RACE or CLASS will link and take the user direct to the correct page for that, which is great.
So, clicking (or hovering over) the specific ability could bring up a pop-up. For a mobile app, it could be long-press to display the ability (or just tap I guess).
The pop-up shows all the text for that specific ability or spell.
Take a look at wowhead and the way that links display as pop-ups there, which I think would be awesome.
What about auto updating of skills and proficiency... So if I am filling out a character sheet and put in mountain dwarf a pop up displays (add all, con+2, speed 25, darkvision, resilience, battleaxe, handaxe, hammer, warhammer, etc.) and it adds the items/skills/stats to my sheet. If for example I already entered my constitution with my con bonus, I can simply uncheck the con bonus and it won't be added to my sheet. (or if my mountain dwarf's backstory is his parents were killed and he was raised by elves then I could uncheck all the proficiency items).
Likewise the ability to add or subtract things beyond RAW. For example my sorcerer who appears human but has unknown parentage and 20' Darkvision. Maybe highlight these things (maroon) on the character sheet.
I'd definitely like to see some class-specific sheets. I'm currently playing a Battle Master fighter, and not only is a bunch of my sheet cluttered with stuff i'll never use, namely spells, there's not really a place that i can write down my maneuvers and superiority dice effectively.
The character sheet should auto expand with new sections that address the particulars of that class, so when I choose sorcerer i get sections on spells and when I enter 3rd level or above a section on meta magic is added. If I multi-class into wizard then spellbook is added... Etc Etc.

Maybe a toggle for "Combat Tracking" and toggle for "Combat Rolls" with tick boxes for Normal/Advantage/Disadvantage?
I would like to see filtered/interactive spell lists for creating spell casting characters. for example If you choose Wizard class then all druid spells are removed from a list. Also if playing a subclass like Eldritch Knight having an interactive list which allowed you to pick any wizard spell then limited the remaining 2 too only the correct schools and spell levels. I spent a lot of time reading neat spells only to find my fighter couldn't cast them cause they were of the wrong school.
Hmm.... This makes me wonder whether we should be expecting a character sheet or a character manager. Subtle difference, but a character manager, IMO, would be "bigger" and more app-like, potentially with wizards for picking spells, etc. Since the character info would be stored in some sort of database, you could pull it into any variety of sheets and even switch things up, for presentation. A character sheet, on the other hand would be fairly set in presentation, once chosen, and more about just filling in the blanks with some auto-calculation with minor filtering/wizard-lings.
Personally, I'm hoping for more of a character manager. I don't really need another sheet, and I sure wouldn't pay much for it. Either integrate it with Compendium data or forget it.
Whole heartedly agree... The "Character Functions" of the system should lend themselves equally well to being a;
Character Sheet - I'm going to type in the data for my sheet. I don't expect you to do anything with it except let me reference it, edit it, and print it out.
Character Manager - I add exp to my characters sheet and it prompts (level up?) if I choose yes then (choose class, adj hp, adjust prof bonus, if applicable choose feat or add to stats, if applicable choose a archetype, etc.) If I choose no don't level up then none of that happens and I am free to edit my character manually.
Character/NPC generater - I enter as little or as much of the info as I want and the system generates the rest. (random character, or a 5th human fighter, or 10th level sorcerer, with twinned and subtle spell)
Yes, if a character sheet had a spell book to click through. Have the name of spells as a "Link" and "Click the name", it opens a small window with the description of spell. To the left of the spell, a "Check Box" to add it to your spell list. And have this list on your character sheet so you are not navigating away from your character sheet to find... and search...and then add spells. They should be in Spell-level order on one page.
In every other system, I have to have at least TWO windows open, my character sheet as a third, and my Players hand book There has to be a better way.
This makes leveling faster and DM character building a breeze. That would be nice.

Yeah, that's a really good way to streamline multiclassing, too.

Suggestions:
Ability for a character to be assigned to a campaign (when campaigns are added)
After added, then, the DM for that campaign to be able to view the character sheets
DM also able to modify the character sheets
Specifically, the DM also able to assign items from the item database to that character sheet (and an option to add magic items that are UN-identified). Also to assign XP, gold, cursed items (muahahaha!) etc.
Have versioning, so that if a DM (or PC I guess) modifies a sheet, and the other person is unhappy with that for some reason, they can revert it back to the last version that they had created.
Ability to move character sheets across campaigns
Allow a DM to set rules for what will be allowed with the character sheets that are added by PCs. For example, a strict "Adventurer's League" rules for creations such as only allowing using the ability score matrix and then a "homebrew" rules which would allow rolling for ability scores. There was something like this in the D&D 4e DDI character creator.
DrGerm has hit on most of the campaign management of character sheet wants list in his wonderfully concise list. =) On number 6 of sheets moved across campaigns, it would be cool if there was also a way to copy an already made sheet. This way, say you want the same character with only a few tweaks in the other campaign. Also, character sheets should only be assignable to one campaign at a time because otherwise it would be a mess as the chars won't level the same or get the same things confusing the player and the DMs.
So sum up:
1) Can copy existing sheet into a new one or a simple save as with a new name to make the new char sheet.
2) In campaign management, char sheet only assignable to one campaign at a time.

While its on my mind. Will there be an auto roller and or a point buy option for creating character ability scores?

Oh yeah, that'd be perfect! I didn't even think about dualclassing; that's a great way to make the character sheet work well with that too.
i hope you guys make a app, and allow some offline creations to allow accessibility
