Speaking of my laptop ... the sheet still looks beautiful, and there's no missing usability, but there are some annoying little things that I'd love to see fixed. Mainly, on desktop, the sidebar disappears completely when hidden. This is not the case on my laptop, where the edge of it stays peeking out even when it's hidden
f I have the sidebar aligned to the right on my laptop, it doesn't actually hide at all. It stays present on the screen:
(Snipped for space)
This sort of thing looks like a definite bug. I'd suggest posting those screenshots in the bug thread but also include your browser (and ideally possibly test in more than 1 browser if you can), operating system, and if possible specific browser version and screen resolution setting. That would be an immense help to them, I imagine. (Also notes like whether it is ALWAYS like that, or only sometimes, and if so only sometimes only after doing what, etc.)
Thanks to the team for all the hard work. For the most part, I like the changes. Here are some things I would like to see improved:
-Please allow desktop mode on tablets. I can see how the current mobile mode is better for phones, but as lots of folks have already said, on tablets it means a lot of wasted space and a lot of going back and forth. The changes on desktop are a clear move forward, but for me, the layout on my iPad is a big step backwards. Trying to force desktop mode does nothing (at least not on my iPad 3 running OS 9). Someone above mentioned doing this for tablets 10" and above. I'd drop the minimum size to 9 or 9.5"; My iPad is under 10" and I want this option, too.
-For limited use attacks like dragonborn breath weapons, please make is possible to check it off as used in the combats section (or at least in the overlay that pops up when you click on it). It should probably be both there and in the features and traits section.
-the gear icons in the various sections need to be a different color. They are way too easy to miss as it is now.
First of all: I'm loving the new direction of the character sheets! They look great on desktop!
As a mobile user, my first reaction wasn't enthusiastic. The menus feel clunkier to navigate and I often have problems clicking boxes in the pop out menu if the main screen is scrolled too far down. I can't wait to play test the new layout on mobile tomorrow, but I'm definitely tempted to switch to desktop for easier navigating.
I love the new feature showing actions/reactions/bonus actions. I've seen others mention their channel Divinity and as a cleric of life I agree! It's great to see my feature right there with everything else, but it would also be great to see the turn/destroy undead option too. Related to these menus, I miss the Limited Use list from the old layout. I liked seeing my one time/limited use items and abilities all in one place. This was especially true for spell scrolls, which I feel can be easily forgotten in the inventory.
One other thing I've noticed is the spell display. It's great having spells automatically listed at higher levels, but it also feels cluttered. Sometimes I just want to see one level of spells without the extras. If it would be possible to toggle spell scaling I would greatly appreciate it!
Sorry for any repeat information, this thread is getting long!
Feature Request: Condition details on the slide out
Unless I'm missing something, the Conditions slide out just has toggles to add the condition or not. But in my games the two most looked up things are probably Spells and Conditions. So it would be awesome in some future iteration to be able to click the condition name and see the details (and you can have the Prev/Next nav at the top like I've seen in other slide outs).
Also, for the record, both my group and my son's group (including two new players) all really like the new sheet. My wife and I tried the old sheet for a bit but gave up on it and just printed the PDFs. But we really like the new sheet especially on mobile! We found the old sheet to be too clunky on phones and iPad, but the new one is great.
Lastly, as someone who builds web apps as a career, let me just say that setting aside the subjective opinions about the design choices, the quality of the work Curse put into this is AMAZING! If someone preferred the old sheet, that's understandable and a matter of personal preference. But those who are venting that this is sloppy work or amateur, etc. are simply 100% absolutely wrong. You can go to a nice restaurant and be perfectly justified in a dish not appealing to your tastes without accusing the chef of having no idea what they are doing!
As someone who has built websites professionally since "cross-browser" meant Mosaic & Netscape Navigator, I can recognize great work. This is great work.
As a fellow web developer, I concur.

Monk unarmored defence doesn't show up when you click on defences for your character, I feel that it should be mentioned in there as a reminder to players who receive a bonus to AC due to that
I understand that the monk skills in general are still working on a minor revamp of the character sheet so I can't wait for the easier tracking of ki points.
Another thing that I noticed on my monk is, unarmed attack states that it is 1 + STR, but with monk it has an actual table that the players go off of to indicate unarmed damage and monk weapon damage.
Strange, my Monk displays properly (click on AC and unarmored defense is listed, and my unarmed strike is the 1d4 instead of 1. Do you have any homebrew stuff on that character by chance? Way earlier in this thread someone had an issue of things not showing up and the fix was to remove all homebrew content then readd it.
the actual skills and a.c. are working properly, I meant to say that the description in the action tab suggests that unarmed strike is just 1 + STR and the defense tab in combat doesn't mention anything about unarmored defense...just mentions resistance and immunities

I really like the changes! However, can we get an "all" section on the spells list? One of my players really likes being able to look through all the spells she has prepared at once.
This can be seen by clicking the gear icon for spells. It opens the sidebar and displays all your spell slots and all spells you can cast in order of level.

Yeah I'd still consider anything over 9" as a large-sized tablet, I was talking about the 8" iPad Mini as being small enough to be treated like a phone.
I've noticed that it doesn't list under the Proficiency & Tools "Vehicles" of any variety.

Guess it be good to fill this out. I'm a gamer at heart. I enjoy video and board games. In the real world, I work in warehousing to help keep me afloat.

I'm pretty sure it's based on the with of the screen in pixels. 1200px was chosen as the minimum width because at that point the boxes start to squish together. It is also a common "desktop" breakpoint in Web design.
If you can zoom the web page out on your tablet, you should be able to see it in desktop layout.

This is still not the same, it's a clumsy workaround, where I can check the spell with an additional click, but would still have to go back to the previous list, and click again to select the spell level, and click again to cast the spell. Meanwhile in the previous version's spell view, you had an overview (without an extra click), you could find your spell easily (without scrolling through duplicates and quadruplicates), and cast it with one click, or cast one extra times if you wanted to use it on a higher level. Right now my 9th level wizard, who has 2 4th level spells and attuned to a wand of lightning bolt has 10 (!) spells listed as 4th level, and also has 9th level sections because of the wand - which I could already use at higher level from any slot anyway. It's quite confusing and very redundant, to be honest.

For the most part I am loving the new PC character sheet and am extremely excited to use it for all my sessions.
My only request is that the Sidebar doesn't get forced into overlay mode on smaller sized laptop screens. Sitting at 1366x768 and having the side bar cover a quarter of the sheet, is quite annoying. I wish the fixed view worked without having to resize the browser screen.
Edit:Also a place for ritual spells would be appreciated.
Hello. I like the new character sheet a lot. One thing - when I add a weight override via the edit on the inventory list, it is saved, but it does not show up on the inventory list. When I add a gold override, that shows up, but I can't get the weight override to show up.
Really happy with these changes overall. Some miscellaneous feedback:
I noticed the HP scroll wheel triggers a vibration effect on my phone. I'd really like the option to disable this.
Tap-based navigation on mobile is a great change, but I think the menus are a bit too granular as is. As you get more traffic statistics, it'd be nice if the lesser/more viewed sections could be combined. For example, I'd prefer ability scores, saves, skills, and proficiencies in one combined menu as those elements would cover nearly all rolls a DM may ask me to make. The Combat & Actions and Description & Notes sections could similarly be combined IMO.
The spell display seems almost backward to me. I really want the ability to filter down my spell list, not be forced to page through by level. Additionally, I'd like more integrated spell management. Ideally, my unprepared spells should also appear in the main interface, only grayed out.
The "Other" Actions tab is a little confusing as it seems to combine features that are free actions and features that take longer than an action. More clarity here would be better, especially for newer players.
Within the Combat page, if you click on the conditions, and enable a condition, clicking on the condition should bring up the details one what that condition does. Additionally, there is no way to set the level of Exhaustion you have.
The more I explore the new sheet, the more I love it!
One of the little details that makes me happy, is not only do we have different themes for the area borders, but that each class has its own pleasing color for this if you want to differentiate your characters that way. (And I do!)
And bravo to the developers for using SVG for these borders instead of just images!
Playing with this more today, the phone interface is a lost cause. The ipad/desktop interface is still ugly and hard to use and read. The 12” iPad Pro gets a larger interface while the 10” iPad Pro get the same interface as my iPhone. Is there any way to get the 12” ipad (desktop?) interface on the 10” ipad?
It sounds like this may already be a plan in the future although I thought I should mention this anyway. I think it would be a good idea to have the ability to move and resize the widgets our information is placed in. For instance, the window that holds the combat/action/spells/equipment information I would like to make it longer so I'm not scrolling through all of the equipment or spell I have when I'm not sure what I'm looking for immediately (like if I'm trying to get my party out of a jam or come up with a plan and I'm trying to search for something to help). So having the ability to make some of the widgets longer or shorter or even move them around so anyone who uses the online character sheet during a game has an easier time getting to all their information - a 'back to default' would probably be useful as well just in case if this feature is added. That said, I really love the way the new character sheet looks and the ability to - I guess- further customize things is something I would like to have.

Hi Zekiran,
You can still print as a PDF. Click on the down arrow to the right of your character name and select "Export Sheet".
In fact, the new PDF version has much more information than the original.
Hope you enjoy it!

This please!
I have a small wish list item - I'd like the position and arrangement of the 'info pane' to stay that way until I change it.
Now, I have it 'fixed' - on the right, so it's in a super wide layout.
BUT, when I go in to edit the character, and come back, it's returned to default - hidden.
Can that be changed so it 'sticks', even between sessions?
Thanks!
