While that information could be considered relevant, it's not what he was asking. He seems to think--and I agree--that it would be nice to be able to make certain homebrew content show up in the main listings. It'd also be nice if "homebrew" (or even "[insert name here]'s homebrew") was considered a source just like "Basic Rules" or "Curse of Strahd" (and it was easier to exclude sources).
That would be neat. Even if the default were that homebrew didn't show up in the search, but if there were a toggle or something that would allow public homebrew and personal homebrew to show. That'd be cool.
Yeah, we've kicked around that idea more than once. We landed on the side of putting homebrew into its own separate listing to minimize possible confusion between official data and homebrew data. Its always something we could change in the future, relatively easily, as we introduce more homebrew, UA, etc.
Seems sensible. That's another thing I love about this place, you, and the rest of the Curse crew. You guys are always looking at making things better, and you are willing to re-examine past decisions as situations change. Keep on being awesome!
I don't think id want all public homebrew in the listings as there is lots and lots of stuff in there in some. But i do like the idea of putting my homebrew collection mixed in with the official listings (though turned off by default as it could get very confusing to people). Or better yet be able to create groups of homebrew content and add that, one of my friends who DMs has a catalog of everything he allows in his games and it would be cool to be able to select that bundle to be able to look at along side the official content.
No I am talking about private homebrew and I want it to be with the other spell to make it easier to choose what spells NPC would have at the end I would have add over a 100 spells that a want to use it with the standard DnD spells

I agree with this. For example, I'm going through my old Dragon magazines and noting which articles have new monsters. I'm converting a bunch of them to 5e as private homebrew content on DDB. Later, when I'm prepping for a gaming session, I'd love to filter by Undead/CR 8-10 and see both the official monsters and the appropriate homebrew monsters I've added. Having them in one place will make it easier to select monsters for encounters, which in turn will help me prep more efficiently.
The current workaround for this would be two filters: one in the official monster listing, and one in the homebrew monster listing. It's an extra step, but not super inconvenient. However, right now, if I filter for monsters in the homebrew listing, my homebrew monsters don't show up if I haven't made them public. But I don't want to make my content public.
Which means I have zero ability to use DDB's awesome filter tools on my private homebrew. And that limits my ability to use DDB for faster, more effective prep.

I agree, maybe just a checkbox or toggle in the search that says, "Include My Homebrew Collection" (for all the various searches).

Is there any word on when players in a campaign with content sharing will be able to view private homebrew? I want my players to be able to use the preorder bonus racial feats, so I've recreated them as private homebrew, but they don't seem to be able to see them.

They should be able to. Check with your players if the homebrew is active (first page of the editor of their character builder).
...all right, them going through the character creator lets them see the feats. They just couldn't see them when I sent them the link to BadEye's homebrew. Thanks for your help!
Are we going to be able to add a homebrew class or race?
Currently, this will be unavailable. The feature has been requested and will be reviewed by staff as they move forward with tool enhancement.
I know I speak for many in saying that, despite the complexity inherent to such, your customers very much want to see this feature implemented. Anyone with any coding knowledge understands that this will take time to design, test, implement and then revise... but please don't let it fall to the wayside. The hope of this feature coming to fruition was foremost when I decided to also support the digital content alongside the books.
That said, thanks to the entire team for building a wonderful product and hearing out the never-ending needs of the client. Personally, I'm loving the work thus far and am very excited to find myself in a position to participate in what has been implemented thus far!
It would be nice to be able to homebrew races and classes as well. As it is now, those are the two things that people can't add in and it stifles some of the capabilities of this site.

Homebrew Races & Sub-classes are being actively worked on! :)

VERY glad to hear that this is actively in the works! Thank you all, again, for making a such a superb product and feedback experience.

That was beautiful. Are you a writer, by any chance?

Not quite sure if you're being sarcastic, but I'll hope that you're not. Thank you kindly for the compliment, but the goal was to equally plead prioritization as much as reinforce a sense of accomplishment within the team that has given much in the ways that only one who knows how to code such can fully appreciate. To answer your question, I've not had time to pen any of the several novels floating around in my skull... I've had to content myself with this wonderful new system of dungeons and dragons. =P
These may have been mentioned already but I ran into these issues when making magic items.
I'd like to be able to add a static damage modifier to a magic weapon without a dice value, doesn't seem to work at the moment. I was trying to show Hew's max damage to plant creatures and wooden objects but there doesn't seem to be a neat way to do that unless I missed something.
Also, replace damage type seems to have only radiant as an option.

Things I feel like would be excellent for homebrew:
- Comments on individual creations, so feedback can be condensed where its most useful
- Creators being able to see who has viewed their creations
- User pages where you can view all of one user's published content

In fact, you shouldn't need to recreate them as private homebrew - they should be shared via master subscription.

Hey everyone,
thank you for being so keen about homebrew on D&D Beyond!
I've put together a video tutorial for homebrew feats, over here, if you're interested.
Over the next couple of weeks, I will aim to produce a few of these.
