Say I made a homebrew enemy and gave it 1500 HP and 200 dmg a round would dndbeyond simply allow me to tell it that my monster was a CR 1 or does the homebrew creation tool look at the stats and calculate the correct CR for it?
I ask because as a DM I'd hate to TPK my party by throwing a wrongly labelled CR enemy at them.
The monster creation tool does not calculate the CR for you.
You have to insert the CR value you think is right.
Adding onto this, you have there are guidelines in the DMG to calculate CR. If those are a little too confusing (as many people find them to be- they're not well explained), there are a plethora of online resources that will do it for you.
