I wanted to get some of those nerd rope things because I have no self control, so I went to right aid and I happened to be wearing my DM shirt. Whilst checking out the cashier complimented me and said he was a DM as well. We had a short but nice conversation where I mentioned my players roll low a lot and he recommended they put their dice in the fridge.
I did some googling and it seems like he isn't the only one who thinks this, but he swore on it. Is this a superstition or is there science behind cold dice?? Did he confuse Dice with Whisky stones???
The way dice roll depends on geometry and defects like internal bubbles or flaws in the material. It's not out of the realm of possibility that chilling your dice might cause some sort of thermal effect that alters the roll of the dice, but the difference would probably be minimal and there would be no way to determine which way it would affect the probability. So yeah, just superstition. If a certain die regularly lands on certain numbers, chances are it's just skewed in some way and should be replaced.
fridging something is typically just a euphemism for putting them on the sideline, in the cooler, on ice, etc. I have seen people do all sorts of strangeness for superstition, microwaves come to mind...

"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
I AM TIRED OF ALL MY MONSTERS MISSING! Do you have a better idea?
Uh... nope. Need any help with the cleanup?
Yeah grab that trashbag.

Put your dice in a glass of Salt Water. If the number appearing on the top is always the same on you're dice its probably unbalanced. Here is a video i saw on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VI3N4Qg-JZM
Only one way to find out, might want to go into international waters to test it.

(Insert Lou Zocchi commercial here.)
I found that taking a blow torch to unruly dice and showing the other dice the pile of melted slag tends to make for better rolls. ;)

Eh, friction and momentum of the dice roll will trump the density of dice bubbles. An edge teeter, sure - majority of dice rolls? Chance.
Superstition.

Wait, does someone at your table have one of those magic cigarette lighters from Ocean's 13? :)

I find the sacrificing of a goat really helps my dice roll that bit better :)
My DM usually sacrifices a few PCs instead...
Walks in on DM sacrificing a goat

To get better rolls when my dice were rolling bad I go with the tried and true of sacrificing a bucket of KFC to the dice gods
Put your dice in a glass of Salt Water.
If the number appearing on the top is always the same on you're dice its probably unbalanced.
Here is a video i saw on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VI3N4Qg-JZM
Hope that helps.
I could never get any of my dice to float.

I think we already have our answer here . . .
I hear dice that act up a lot will behave better when you put them in a good environment for them to chill out.
