Woe climbed down already a little bit. Then she thinks to herself for a moment and stops:
She shouts up "Koll, Perrin, you can send Polly down. She can climb directly above me. Let Mr. Drippy out if not already. He might be able to help on the descend!" Then she waits for Polly and they climb down together, at Polly's speed.
/moved 15 ft down the rope last turn. This turn suggesting to wait for Polly.
Perrin, seeing the others move, rubs and grabs Polly maneuvering her onto his back and telling her “Hang on tight.”
As I do, Perrin notices that her skin looks rather... wrong. She's only wearing her adventuring gear, which consists of a shirt and a pair of pants that look slightly too small for her. She's also shivering uncontrollably.
Perrin says a hafling curse and hopes that his own body heat will help warm her up.
He then moves to and begins to descend down the rope telling Woe on his way down “Move I have Polly. Hurry she’s freezing in this weather.”
Woe watches how Perrin and Polly start to descend. She'll slowly climb below them. When Perrin needs a little stop, Woe will climb all the way down and watches their descent.
Woe will already pull out her bedroll from her backpack to receive Polly into.
As the others descend, including Lera with the diamond Koll thought she would need to appease the dragon, the monk realizes he read the situation entirely wrong. He waits as the others get down, keeping a wary eye on the dragon and ready to jump down the cliff if he needs to.
As everyone descends down the rope, the two humans continue pushing Zamar along on the sled. "Hurry!" They call. "There's a network of caves up ahead that come out to a grove. I don't know why she let you all go, but she won't give up the hunt that easily!"
"Sheema, they fell from the sky," the man says.
"I know..." She replies, as if that explains the current situation. "Stay quiet and watch your step," she says back at the group. "The ice is not as stable as it was last month."
Slowly, Woe, Perrin carrying Polly, and Grasalfan descended the rope. Once at the bottom, Woe wrapped Polly in her bedroll, and helped lead the freezing child along. As Koll stood, watching the dragon, the twenty or so kobolds put their weapons away, and began to help their compatriots drag the flying machine away, under the watchful eye of their master. Finally, when Koll descends, the dragon takes flight and disappears a moment, only to reappear once again over the group, trying to hit the group with an icy blast. Running for cover, the group finds themselves following the sled through the crevasse. There's an uneasy silence, the only sounds are the echoing of footsteps an dragging sounds from the sled. Moving past various cave junctions, the group finally finds themselves outside once again, in a grove of trees, sheltered from the wind. The sled comes to rest under a tree, and the man begins to unstrap Zamar. "You can rest up here," the woman said. "You'll be safe. Then, once you're healed up, you can leave."
Once we stop to get our breath Perrin will take out his own bedroll and attempt to huddle with Polly wrapping it around the both of us. "Here, Polly. This will help keep us both warm." He then looks at the two individuals who saved Zamar. "Thanks for gathering our friend. We really appreciate it but, don't I know you two."
The man looks sharply at Perrin. "And we don't know you," he says, roughly. The woman held a hand out to the man, and he turned back to the sled, continuing to loosen straps. "I'm Sheema. This is my husband Brod. There is no reason you should know us, I would think. Not many brave the mountains."
“Never mind then. It was my mistake. Now, after we take a breather do you two have someplace warm we can spend the night. We can pay you for it of course.”
Koll pulls his cloak tightly around himself as he shivers in the cold. "Can we start a fire?" he asks the two mountain people. "Is it safe? And where are we anyway?"
To Grasalfan he says, "It's too bad about the machine. I'm sure it was very difficult and expensive to build. But, let us count our blessings - at least we are all alive. But, it seems like we have a long walk ahead of us. "
Koll remembers his sable fur hunting cap. He takes it out and puts it on, looks proud of himself. But then he sees Polly, cold and miserable. He plops it on her head, playfully pulling it down over her eyes.
Sheema gives Brod a glance, then looks quickly back at Perrin. "No, I'm sorry. Our cabin is only big enough for the two of us. We were out hunting for our dinner when she landed upon us. She has been hunting us all night... we thought to use your," Sheema pauses for a moment, "Crash... to get away. We could not leave him dying." She spares a glance at Zamar, as Brod loosened the final bond. "As you can see, we have nothing more to spare. I'm sorry." Turning to Koll, she responds, "You'll be safe here. She doesn't come into the grove. Just... just don't burn the grove down."
Grasalfan shivers in the cold and pats his pouch. "We got what we came for," he says. "Now... we need to find a way back to Baldur's Gate." He looks to the two strangers and asks, "Do you know of a pass through these mountains? A way to the Northern side?" None of the Scarlet Dawn look outfitted for cold weather. It's doubtful any of them would survive more than a day out here.
"You really don't have enough to spare. Really, I thought the Winter Wolves would have a big supply of stuff. You know, the Winter Wolves are still wanted in Amn. I bet they would love to know about your location up here in the Cloud Peaks. Of course, I could be mistaken, it might be this cold weather. Maybe being in a nice warm cabin for the night will help clear up my mind." Perrin says to Sheema and Brod.
The sorcerer had been running on pure adrenaline and sheer terror, but as things slowed down the numerous injuries caught up to her. She had a large cut on her forehead, more bruises and small scratches than she could count... but her wrist was the worst. She was having a hard time focusing on the conversation the adults were having
“Hey, ummm, sorry to interrupt, but does anyone have any healing magic left?” Lera asked, wincing as she held up her wrist. It was bent at an odd angle, with one of the bones just barely poking through the skin.
Sheema opened her mouth to answers Grasalfan, when the onyx caught her eye. Her breath caught in her throat and her eyes got wide. As quickly as it was there, it was gone, and a sad expression crossed Sheema's face. As Perrin hurled accusations, Brod stepped forward, his face red with anger. "I knew we shouldn't have helped them, Sheema. Lackeys of Lord Embree, they are." He put an arm across Sheema's chest, pulling her back. "Shoulda let them die."
Shanolia's hands go down to her sides, still hiding the valuable onyx.
"You have nothing to fear from us."She says calmly in Thieves Cant."After all, we are not so different, you and I. Hiding from a past that cannot be forgiven. Running from the gold a lord has placed upon our names."
"Don't. Say. That. Name. In. Front. Of. Me." Perrin says sternly trying to keep his cool. "I know what you were, the Winter Wolves. Doing raids on the local villages. My village. Nothing but bandits praying on those who worked. We were supposed to flush you out. When we couldn't find you and you stopped raiding we assumed you dead. But I see not. Listen. Don't take me. That's fine. But please, take Polly, Zamar, and Lera. She won't survive out here and Zamar needs to get someone to rest and address his injuries. Lera, well she'll follow you if you took her dad and Polly. So, please. Just take them."

Hearing her comment about having nothing more to spare, Shanolia sifts through her gems, pulling out a strange onyx and holding it up to the pair.
"I'm not entirely sure if it will be of use to you, but it is a token of our gratitude."
