Not getting anything else from the guard, Kenari trudged back to their company. Not sign of Sir de Rolo. The half-elf was delayed. Perhaps, he had been delayed with the other people. Before she could answer Calder; the elf came upon them ...with a wounded guard.
Clutching the rapier at her side, she listened before jumping to help the elf with his tracking.
OOC: Kenari helps tracking the attacker. Survival: 20
Kenari and Moonoak retrace the elf's steps, finding spots of blood and a small indent in the dirt where the confrontation took place. There's no immediately visible sign of the figure.

Closer and closer they moved towards the spot, and the tighter, Kenari gripped her hilt. Was it eagerness or fear that she felt? It was both. Only a fool would be that confident on their own. The blood was a tell-tale sign of the confrontation. Nothing. Not one sign of the creature. Crouncing down, Kenari examined the surroundings more closely for clues or signs that would point the way to their elusive prey.
OOC: Kenari hopes to see if something is hidden from her sight, that would explain how the attacker vanished. Investigation10

While Kenari investigstes the area for invisible objects, i sweep the area and survey the general topography, learning the area in case i need to fight there. perception 16

You find some faint footprints leading to the gate from the crater, but the footprints stop after the gate.

The ground if fairly flat, except for a new, small crater in the ground. There's really nothing of note that you might be able to use to your advantage, except maybe the gate.
Gleaning whatever, she could from the place. Kenari sprang up the spot on the ground. The trail had gone cold, and that to her was worrying. Her brow furrowed. Whoever this foe was, they were fast. "Nothing. The trail is cold. Too cold."The half-orc Blood Hunter was disappointed. Whatever the attacker was--tiefling or otherwise--where they connected to the disappearances? Nothing seemed certain to her now.
With this thoughts in her head, she sprinted back to other volunteers. "No sign can be seen. I suggest the guard double their patrols and that we see Sir North de Rolo now."
"The tiefling said something about being interested in the cave. So, i think that when we go see Sir North, we should get permission to enter the cave, because whatever the tiefling is interested in, it is in our best interests to reach it first."
Just as Kenari and Moonoak return to the group, North walks up. He looks over Moonoak and the injured guards. "What in the nine hells happened?" He exclaims, rushing over to the guards. They don't say anything, still just on the ground in slowly ebbing pain.

Overhearing the discussion about the hooded figure wearing a mask. I try to recall my knowledge of any organized group of robed / masked (possibly Tiefling) in the area. 12 (History)

You vaguely remember hearing of some group of Asmodeus acolytes. They're mostly Tieflings and fiends. They have their own law, their own code, but you don't remember what it is.
Finally, the de Rolo had shown up. Late. "Your guards were attacked." She narrowed his eyes at him. "By a tiefling. Do you know of any in this town?" Too many things did not make sense so far. "We think," she pointed towards Moonoak, "its on its way to the cave. Your permission we need to make our way there."Otherwise, they would make enemies of everyone in this barracks. She kept a keen eyed stare on him.
"The tiefling did not seem like one to put themself in unnesasary denger, so there is quite a large chance that there is something in the cave that they want. And seeing as they were powerful enough to knock out one of your guards just by pointing, we should keep out of their hands anything that may increase their power."
"Let's not run off on our own chasing rabbits, shall we," Calder offers the two that are returning to the group. "If we're going to do get anything accomplished we should probably stick together from here on out."

North shakes his head. "Dammit. We need to go now." He says, turning on his heel. "No time to talk. Come with me." His cape flows out behind him as he walks.
Whatever she said was enough to spark a fire in him. Quickly, as he turned on his heel, Kenari sprang forward behind him. She shrugged, at Calder. Patience was a welcome trait, but something made the situation more urgent to the noble.
Dark Sight moves to follow North unquestioningly, but does offer the information he had gathered and recalled as the group begins to move:
"I am with you, but I do need to share ... two things with you." he says choppily, attempting to keep pace with his larger companions and project his voice from his tiny gnome lungs, "That tiefling that attacked you, I think he was an Asmodeus acolyte.... and that cave, is full of explosives... I'm not sure of his exact plans, but in my past experience, radical groups who brandish their own justice.... who are in search of large quantities of explosives.... never tend to end well for those who do not agree with them."

Gus nods in agreement. "This DeRolo will have lots of questions to answer," he thinks to himself.
