Valen felt the power of Chance's spell surge through him unexpectedly, catching him off guard. He felt his body move past Chance, dropping his weapons to the ground as he went. I can't control my body, Valen thought, struggling against the magic binding him. Seeing Chance swing at him, Valen managed to Shield himself against the Seer's blow, breaking free of his magical constraints. That was close, he thought to himself as he quickly assessed the situation. "Dastrun's probably a higher priority target..." the elf muttered to himself as he brought forth his spellbook. "I shall never miss with this one." Four magical darts sprung forth, striking Dastrun. "Perfect," Valen said as Dastrun was taken out of the running.
Before Valen struck Dastrun, Dastrun hit Katerina, and she barely was able to deflect it to her armor. Dastrun was chilled by her now gone spell, and by her swing, which connected, though not well

Chance looks at the layers of abjuration and illusion magic protecting the Wizard Valen and kenning that at this moment it might be moot to affect Valens mortality directly.
Chance points at Valen, a dolorous bell sounds.
Then Chance moves closer to Valen.

Chance witnesses his cantrip fully taking effect on Valen
Apologies my friend for any hurt, you are definitely a skilled Wizard. your wards and protections are most clever I am but a simple seer and agent for Fate. I believe I can hold my own, but I would prefer to seek that which must be found.
Clutching his head, Valen suddenly fell to the ground, a bell ringing endlessly in his head. "Katerina... It's on you, now. Sorry that I had to drop out," Valen grunted, before dragging himself off the practice field.
Katerina grins as Dastrun concedes, and runs to Chance, her blade going high, and slamming into his right shoulder, hard. which draws blood "Good fight. One thing we might want to work on is focusing fire. unless there is a specific reason, like control"

Chance reels at Katrina's mighty blow, whilst thinking that he should have conjured his shielding aurora around the same time as his cantrip. He calls upon his Patron (he witnesses that this win goes to Katrina, as several possibilities go through his minds eye).
Katerina grins, and helps Chance up, after the strike. "well, that was interesting, I say we spend the night, and then travel back to the material world,. The Blacksmith told me the way"
"Agreed," Valen said, wincing a bit as the remainder of Chance's magic faded. "Katerina, you have certainly proven yourself a very powerful ally. I look forward to working with you." Bowing slightly, he continued, "If you don't mind, I'll be resting up after that fight. I used a lot of magic, and my ears are still ringing slightly. Excuse me." With that, Valen departed to trance for a while, regaining his strength.
With this, the group decides to spend the rest of the day training, shopping, and resting. At the end of the day, they return to their rooms at the inn, and when the next day arrives, they get prepared to leave. The star appears to be secure in its vehicle, and Qlevveln confirms this as you walk up to it.

"Alright, let's get this show on the road," Valen said, glancing back at the village behind them. Internally, he was worried about John. Hopefully he can rejoin us before too long, he thought to himself, shouldering his pack.
With the brief conversation behind them, the group heads towards the village's east exit. The path has trees on both sides, each with a small statue at its base. Once they reach it, Katerina directs the group to stop at the fifth tree on the right hand side of the road. She knocks on the tree twice, before kneeling down and knocking on the statue at its base three times. The air seems to change around you, feeling a little fresher. Taking this as a sign that the barrier between planes was weakened as the blacksmith had described to Katerina, the group continues its journey towards Whaelrdrake. Turning back, you see only the ruins that exist on the map you possess.

Chance watched what Katrina did, using his eldritch senses- seeing something both complex yet profoundly simple, he gazed in amazement at the thinning of the air and of the world, a subtle glimmer of colours and sounds which he associates with conjuration. A momentary flash of a mist,as he follows, looking back the mist vanishes and all that Chance sees is the old ruins. Commenting after Dastrun.
I totally agree with you Dastrun, that was incredible.
Valen felt the shift in the Weave as he stepped through the rift. Turning and seeing the ruins, he instinctively reached for his spellbook, scribbling notes about planar travel. "I see... Hm..." Valen muttered to himself as the group continued onward.

"stupid magic and it's stupid aim." Dastrun sits sulking on the ground, grumbling to himself.

Chance slept well and deeply, awaking feeling very refreshed full of zeal and ready to go.
Quickly joining the others and departing, whilst wondering what will happen next.
