"You're not coming?" she asked, a subtle note of panic in her voice. It felt like she and Lero were always the ones going out scouting, and it would be weird not to have him by her side. She already had a bad feeling about splitting up and sneaking into town, and this latest development was only solidifying in her mind that this wasn't the finest plan.
Namura didn't even notice Quill casting their spell, something her normally observant eyes would have picked up on instantly. It came as a surprise to her when the Aetherborn poked his head through a shimmering illusion. "Are you sure we don't need a fire?" he startled the ranger.
"Fire's mean smoke, and even if this area is hidden, I'd hate to gift someone a trail straight us," the elf shook her head. They had plenty of dry food rations, and she lacked the energy to attempt to fish in this murky swamp. "What's your plan Quill? What do you need from the village? How are we doing this?"
"My main objective is to scout it out. See who's there, and if I've got any friends I can rely upon here. Not to mention, that airship looks like it needs a new crew, if you catch my drift," Quill cracked his neck, eager to get started on his task. "If there's more Renegades, we could at least take down that Consulate ship while we're here. It won't necessarily be under our control at that point, but it should cripple the Consulate's hold in this area." The Aetherborn shrugged, unsure if the party would take to his suggestion. "Of course, we don't have to do that. Either way, supplies would be nice. Rope, I think, will come in handy."
"I have 250 feet of rope if we need it or something like that. Most of it I have up a sleeve." Buama chuckled. "I even have a couple of ladders left, too."
She wasn't sure what to think of going around the huge tree or through the village, let alone taking out a consulate ship. She was not sure if it really was needing a crew or not, since she didn't get a good view of people on it or not. It was getting dark so her sight, despite lights from the village, didn't really work well. She would probably go along with the majority at this point. Maybe if the ship did not have a crew they could use it to fly home when all was said and done. Though that might lead to them being blown out of the sky by friends.

Duncan perked up at the idea of going to a village "I would like to also go to the village. Might as well see what's all about with the Consulate bring an airship all the way out here." At this point Duncan didn't really care about the Consulate he just wanted to be among people...and away from the bugs.

I would join you at going to the village, but the last fight did drain part of my Aether and I also am still hurt from the fight, so I think I will stay with the camp.
Kraithee goes into the tree trunk where they are going to spend the night and sat down for some relief, its back is really hurt.
Lero, do you know how many crew that ship could have? I don't like the idea of part of us going into a village that could harbor one hundred Consulate goons.
Lero looks up from his preparations of the camp as Kraithee addresses him and says, "The Last Judgement has a minimum crew of about 100 people and constructs. But when it's on a mission such as this it easily transports up to 300. It is best to avoid the ship and crew unless we absolutely have to confront them."
He goes back to his preparations, glancing over at Namura as she begins to leave for the town. "Be safe out there... all of you."
"I'd prefer not to take enough that they notice things are missing," Namura pursed her lips, thinking about a plan of attack. She felt like she was running through the same thoughts over and over in her mind, unable to pull everything together into something cohesive. "But information gathering is something I can get behind. How do you propose we get there? A boat is conspicuous, but swimming isn't much better."
"Namura, you are only going into the village in order to get some rest on a real bed. Anything else would be over-exerting yourself, something none of us can afford you do. As for who else can go, I think we should limit it to Quill, since he is the only other one of us who can stay inconspicuous if spotted. Everyone else should stay here - its the safest option for the operation."
Flux, had remained quiet, observing everyone up until this point, but seeing that the group was confused as to who should be going into the village. After all, going into the village when there are so many consulate personnel within presented a highly hazardous scenario, where a single error could ruin everything for us.
Quill nodded in agreement. "I will concur. While I admit that I am very eager to fight the Consulate- perhaps too eager- my purpose is recon. Namura," he turned to the ranger. "I can assist you through magic or physical aid if you require transport to the village. Though while it may only last for about ten minutes, I can cast a spell to make you fly before I myself meld with Allen." The raven, who had reappeared, cocked its head to one side, letting out a caw as it shifted its feet. "Will that be agreeable to you?"
"I am just as comfortable trancing here, if not more," Namura stuttered, slightly shocked at seeing this new side of Flux. "I'm fine though, really. But if Quill can do it quieter alone, than I guess that's best and I'll just stay here." Her voice trailed off. The ranger had fallen into her position in this group rather quickly and haphazardously, but somehow she fit into her role.
But even Namura couldn't ignore how awful she felt. "I'm fine," she repeated quietly, more to herself, as she leaned against the wall and closed her eyes.
"Quill, if you're not back in an hour I'm getting worried and coming after you," Namura said, her voice more sure than it had been. With her eyes closed and her head resting against the tree, it wasn't a sure bet that she would remain conscious long enough to wait that hour.
Quill cocked his head, mimicking Allen. "Right... Well, I'll be off. See you all in a bit." Glancing over at Namura, Quill felt the disappointment and emptiness of not being able to fulfill her role within the party, along with the exhaustion of the journey radiate off the elf. Leaning in closer to Flux, Quill whispered, "Don't let her come after me until she's rested. I'll be fine for a good while." With that, Quill stepped out of the illusion, melded with Allen, and flew off towards the upper layers of Log'kaejalu, where he saw an unguarded entrance to make his way inside from.
It was decided then. Quill would scout out the town alone and find out what he can. He was relieved that Namura was staying, and he watched as she immediately fell into a trance. She was never the first to rest.
Lero pulls the second boat ashore and into the illusory terrain and settles in to take first watch. He wanted to be sure that Namura got the rest she needed, and he never actually got to watch her trance before. He studied the way she did it and listened to her breathing. He could see sweat on her brow, and he watched as it dripped from her chin. It was obvious that she was worse off than she let on. He had an urge to wipe the sweat from her, but was afraid his touch would disturb her rest.
Flux notices Lero studying Namura, and walks over. They whisper to Lero.
"Must have been the swamp air, perhaps a pathogen she's never been exposed to before, but we have. Our immune systems seem to have dealt with whatever her's succumbed to. If I were a doctor, I'd know for sure, but I've only read a handful of books on the topic, unfortunately."

Lero sighs, "I've been learning a lot since I've been grounded. I have always preferred sailing the skies to walking through the dirt and mud, but I'm starting to finally see a beauty in it. It's because of her, I think." His gaze lingers on her before he adds, "I hope she's ok - She's the strongest of us, and we'll need her help."
He smiles at Flux and says, "Thank you. You've been a level mind in these situations and I appreciate it."
Quill returned, shortly thereafter, somewhat bloody in raven form. Returning to his normal state, the Aetherborn seemed to dim a bit, as bits of Aether floated off of him. Allen hopped off his shoulder, and flew off to a higher perch, presumably to attend to its wounds. "Sorry for the short recon. I must admit, I doubt I can do as good a job as Namura, but I did see some interesting things." Quill felt his body struggle to stay together, and knew he would have to rest shortly. "They're taking elves onto the Last Judgement. Questioning them, before either executing them or kidnapping them. It seems they want to know the location of our friend Jarlock Whiteraven, who lent us the boats. While I'm personally not fond of Blackflight, I don't exactly like the Consulate enough to let them get away with this." Quill closed his eyes, aware of the loss to his life force. "I'll need some rest before we can launch an assault on them. There are three entrances into the village itself we can use, provided we fly. The lower ones are heavily guarded. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to enter the Namura state of needing to rest but not wanting to." With that, Quill found himself a corner of the alcove, and laid face down, muttering, "I'm stealing that ship, by the way," as he passed Lero.
"It sounds about as bad as I thought it might be. The Consulate must have a reason to seek out Jarlock. We might have actually saved the man's life by taking his boats. Rest, Quill. We'll see what we can do in the morning." He leans back from his position, for whatever reason more comfortable with the situation than he was before. If a ship were assaulting the city, that means there's allies. And allies are always welcome.
The night passes fairly uneventful. During Lero's watch, he sees a Consulate boat sailing by. It draws fairly close, but it looks like it's just scanning the roots for potential hideouts, as it passes on by and continues along its perimeter search.
The entire party awakes in the morning, just as the first rays of sun begin shining through the lhaesvinbiir [approximately 0600]. The water is still, and the only sounds carried through the wind are the rustling of leaves high above.
Namura arose from her trance a few hours before the rest of the party, although she was unconscious for longer than normal. She said little to the three working aetherborns, merely noting that Quill had returned and informing them that she would be out finding them breakfast. The ranger did not intend to wait around for long enough so that Flux or Quill could force her to stay.
She didn't even know if fishing would be possible here, but she knew that her morning hunts had become expected. Namura stared at the murky water for a long time, waiting for some sort of movement to betray her prey.
Namura didn't return until almost thirty minutes after the rest of the party woke up, but she did come back victorious. Drenched with sweat and swamp water, she arrived at the tree dragging a six foot long fish behind her. "Can I get a little help?" She asked.
Duncan's eyes opened to a bright blue sky, not impeded by the trees of a swampy forest. He propped himself up looking all about him seeing an endless ocean of grassland and plains. He did not see his companions or anyone for that matter and was left to his own thoughts. The plains swirled with aether, the power literally shaping the landscape into a more natural place. In the distance there were two figures in the sky. Duncan had to shield his eyes from the bright light yet he could clearly make out to shapes in the distance coming towards him. Soon the too figures were upon him. They were both of them angels yet so much different than anything he had seen. One had four arms yet she had a metal crown shaped life flames yet was flesh and blood. The other was all Platinum yet had shards of gold on her. Both landed in front of the mystic with great easy. They both extended swords out forward and a white light burst forth from them enveloping Duncan with energy. it was as if the aether of the land was being washed over him.

With a gasp Duncan opened his eyes once more seeing the jungle that he was in and seeing the first rays of the morning sun. He didn't know if the dream was real or not but he knew that he could tap into the power of white mana.
