As I hold the reigns for the oxen I tell the others of how I got in this position. "I am helping those in need in Phandalin, they are running low on provisions and seeing that this is a way to help I took the chance. I also am very fond of fame and money, so this only helps my reputation."
"Helping those who cannot help themselves is good, but fame... money... don't really care for those. Well... money does buy me more ale... and weapons... hmmm guess I do like money well enough."
Don runs his hand over the worn battle axe at his waist. He remembers when he was leaving his father gave it to him telling him to use it to get a better weapon.
You've been on the Triboar Trail for about half a day. As you come around a bend, you spot two dead horses sprawled about fifty feet ahead of you, blocking the path. Each has several black feathered arrows sticking out of it. The woods press close to the trail here, with a steep embankment of dense thickets on either side.
OOG: Suppose I shouldn't have just dropped you right in, given you a chance to actually meet Gundren and get the quest. I'll remember that for future PbPs, just got some first-time nerves I guess.
"It's probably a trap!" I yell at the top of my lungs.
OOC: This character was designed to meet Gundren and actually have a reason other than "it's the only adventure hook we've got" to accept the quest. Now I'm stuck playing an idiot for no good reason. At least it's D&D, I suppose.

OOC: Well I apologize. The hook operates under the assumption that you all have met with him prior to leaving Neverwinter, so this reason your talking about could still technically be in play.

Alekzander, who had been quiet for most of the trip, slowly climbs out of the back of the wagon and makes his way to the front. He was curious as to why they had stopped, and was about to ask, till he spotted the scene before him. With a loss for words, he bows his head in prayer to Mystra.
Alekzander pauses in his prayer to look towards the dwarf, "Do you have any idea who or what could have done this?" he asks quietly. his hand absentmindedly rising to clutch the holy symbol around his neck.

Don slides his axe out and looks about. "Those horses still warm Mathias?"
Realizing that this looks like the type of ambush he'd seen set in the mountains where he is from, Dontontion scans the tree line, looking for movement.

Folos tries to see the presence of any kind of danger: Perception check 11.
As far as you can tell, Folos, there does not appear to be any threats in the area.

OOG Guys, if you want decide an order of rank would be great. Being a druid, I would probably stay in the second line.
