OOC: Do you use "double damage on critically failed save; no damage on critical success even if it would normally do half damage on a success"? I use it in all the games I DM, probably because I really, really like crits.

OOC: No, I've never played that way. This will just be 4d6. The first one (3) will take half damage. I like crits too, but that's a pretty powerful crit...
Valrish swings another attack the monitor, dealing a nasty gash across its face. (Monitor takes 7 damage, 9/65). The monitor then begins screaming. "Protect me! Protect Me!"
Derendil continues swinging his claws a the closet Kuo-toa (6) Multiattack: Claw 1: 18 Claw 2: 17 Slashing Damage: 7 + 9 Derendil utters a ferocious growl as he stabs into the Kuo-Toa with both claws, and rips it in half. (KT-6 0/18)
KT-2 disengages with Jimjar to rush to the aid of the monitor. KT-4 tries to throw a net on Valrish. Attack: 14 Valrish slices through the net as it flies at him. KT-7 and KT-8 use their actions to stomp out the last of the fire before running back to the battle. They are together about 10 feet behind the rest of the main group.
Shuushar opens one eye to peer at the battle around him. "Looks like it's working!" he exclaims to himself, before returning to his meditative state.
Bupiddo moves over to the nearest target (7) for another dagger attack: Attack: 22, Piercing Damage: 3 He slides swiftly in behind the Kuo-Toa and gives it a stab in the shoulder blade. (KT-7 takes 3 damage, 15/18)
Zippy and Oorr move over quickly to the group of battlign Kuo-Toa, Oorr swinging his shortsword. down into KT-2, killing it.
Jimjar throws a dagger at the approaching kuo-toa (7) coming back from putting out the fire. Then rushes over to the Kuo-Toa to retrieve his dagger. Attack: 13, Piercing Damage: 7 The dagger slices a gash in the Kuo-Toa's large neck. (Kuo-Toa takes 7 damage, 8/18)
Stool, Sarith, and Eldeth see the battle is taking a turn for the better, and back up out of harms way.
The Kuo-Toa Monitor, sensing his demise, disengages and runs away, shoving the two approaching Kuo-Toa in front of him as he moves to the back of the boat. He is now 20 feet from Bupiddo and Jim Jar, and 30 feet away from most of you, on the opposite end of the boat.
Valrish runs to the Monitor and swings his shortsword. "DIE!!" He screams, cutting into the fishperson's head, then pulling off the sword, raising it in a victorious way.

25, damage: 10 +5
Valrish rushes after the monitor. The leader reaches the other side of the boat, climbing the rail to leap into the dark waters. Just as he jumps, Valrish catches up with him, swinging at the head of the Kuo-Toa. You hear a gurgling sound, as the monitor falls, his head separating from his body just before it hits the water, making two distinct splashes.
The other Kuo-toa glance around, then disengage and jump into the water, swimming away quickly beneath the blackness. Derendil continues to thrash around, looking for enemies, nearly clawing into Jimjar.
Shuushar speaks up, "Calm, my friend, we have won! The Sea Mother, Blibdoolpoolp has blessed us this day!"
(OOG You now have two boats, there is nothing of interest on the Kuo-Toa boat save for some spare rations, nets, and other mundane supplies. It appears to be equipped for capturing slaves, but there is no one else on board. You do find one thing of interest, a letter from someone named Bloppblippodd, instructing their followers to collect sacrifices for the great Leemooggoogoon. You gather this is what they intended to do with you. The Kuo-Toa boat is bigger, but not any faster than your current boat. You do not have enough people to row both of them, so you'll have to choose which one to keep.)
(OOC so we don't hold things up, while everyone is sorting themselves after the battle, we'll consider you are taking a short rest. Grimnir, you now have 1 hit point, and are no longer unconscious. You may spend hit dice if you have them, as normal. If anyone has potions or healing spells, you may use them as well.)
