"While I can't speak for the rest of this group, I'm more than willing to help in any way I can. Do you know how many people are trapped there?"
At some point Arliden will lean over to Rex'aliha and whisper, "So Rex, you said you were a former member, I don't suppose you have any pull with them anymore do you? Like to maybe just ask politely that they go the fu** away?"
Rex whispers back, "Well, they kinda don't know I left. I told them that I was heading out on a mission and then hightailed it here. I might know a guy who can get us some info though, shares my outlook on dragons and the like." Rex then turns to Nighthill, "Governor, it might be worth noting that they have a camp to the southeast. They seem to be storing their hoard there, as well as multiple dragon eggs. Might be worth a look."
"To the southeast you say? Interesting. If we can make it through this raid, we might just have to look into that. Speaking of, Escobert can show you a secret way out if you'll help. If it'll help, I'll throw in another 10 gold for each of you."
[If you accept] Escobert, leads you to the cellar and a door with with a few barrels and crates blocking it. "On the other side of this door is an old tunnel that leads out to the stream. From the outside, it looks just like any other sewer outlet. As far as I know, we've never needed to use this tunnel, certainly not since I became castellan. If you're careful and pay attention, you should be able to leave and enter the keep whenever you like." Escobert pulls one of the many keys of of the key ring at his hip and holds it toward you. "Governor Nighthill is putting a lot of faith in you. Do not let his faith be in vain."
Rex taps the doorframe of the tunnel, "What are the chances of the cult finding this? Lemme tell ya, kobolds love tunnels. They would like a sewer just as much as a secret tunnel. Seems like it would be a quick way for them to win here..."

"We should probably block the door a little more securely on our return. Also, be careful Rex, I won't be able to treat your wounds any more today." And Arliden will follow everyone else down into the tunnel.
Escobert looks at you with a bit of confusion for a while before saying, "Lock...the door...behind you. Same with the grate at the other end of the tunnel." He hands you the key and starts walking back toward the stairs, muttering to himself, "And these are the ones that are supposed to be better than our soldiers?"
It takes you a few moments to clear away the pile in front of the door. By the time you're ready to unlock the door, a pair of guards arrive to watch the tunnel while you are away. The lock is stiff, but you eventually get the key to turn. As you move into the tunnel, you find that the passage has many cobwebs from years of disuse and is barely wide enough for you all to move in single file. The floor, however, is clear enough for you to move without issue. When you get to the grate at the other end, you find the lock on the exit corroded, and the key seems to be stuck.
[One character may make a dexterity check to open the lock with the key.]
I'm not really specifically talented at locks, but I'm more than willing to give it a try. Does anyone else have more confidence in their abilities to get through this. If not...."
(OOC: I'm going to pause to see if Fjordix, Monk-E, or Valharri wants to attempt this, and if not I'll give it a shot.)

Rex glances to Monk-E, who is currently working on the lock, and then back to the bard, "Little late on that."

Monk-E opens the lock and manages to open the grate without making too much noise.
[Lineup changes -
Ghenesh has been pulled away to advise the keep guards on what to expect with fighting the Cult.
Valharri has stepped aside to deal with a family situation in town.
Cullen is joining the group in hopes that his knowledge of dragons and dragon lore will be of use as you battle the Cult of the Dragon.]
As Monk-E opens the grate, he sees 2 cultists and 6 kobolds walking along the stream. They have not spotted you yet and are almost past where you are.
Rex whispers over, "So, should I do the tentacle bomb again or should I incapacitate a human?"
