"No you will NOT!," shouts Ato as the thing slips away from Rezivah and down the cliff. With a silent appeal to the Trickster, he drops the broadspear and fumbles over his shoulder for a javelin. Ripping one free, he makes a desperate throw to try and finish the last aberration of before it can escape. It seems Cosi has heard his silent plea. The shaft flies true and pierces it through the back, and the alien horror collapses in a heap near the base of the cliff.
Vasha breathed a sigh of relief when the last monstrosity fell to the ground dead. Turning toward the hedron, her heart skipped a beat as she realized there was one left. "Shit," she said quietly, and began to swing her hook over her head. Throwing it at the sleeping creature, the rope wrapped around its neck, the hook sinking deep into its flesh. With a flick of her wrist, she gave the rope a hard yank, and the hook ripped through the neck of the monstrosity, leaving it dead on the floor. She walked in, inspecting it, making sure it was truly dead.
Kayn concentrates for a bit and Sear flutters through the air. With a screech he flies into one of the hallways. Moments later he flies past the group into the other hallway. When he returns, Kayn quickly un-summons him. "Both ways look clear," he says. "Over there," he points to the left hall, "is something like a giant pit of dust with two doors. And over there," he points to the right hall, "is a sort of maze that leads further south. I did not want Sear to go too far."
He looks over to the others, "I think we might be safe to rest, finally."
Ato carefully descends the cliff face to retrieve his javelin, carefully avoiding contact with the silver blood as much as possible. That accomplished, he returns to the hedron, joining the others who've cautiously ventured inside. "We thought we were safe last time, too, but it took some time before the second group found their way out to us. We need a rest, I agree, but certainly should once again maintain a watch as we do."
At the all clear, the group decides to try to continue their rest. Kayn sits down and pulls out his book to continue his studies. He decides to keep the gnarlid on watch at the old campsite in case anything else comes rushing down to the hedron site. When the sounds of approaching creatures are heard, Kayn leaps up atop the boulder. He focuses his mana and casts create bonfire as far down the hallway as he can see.
(Kayn - Stand, Move to D3, casts bonfire into the right hallway DEX Save DC 12 or 1d8 fire damage)
The scuttering of claws put the group on edge, as they conjured flame, knocked and aimed crossbow bolts, or readied their other weapons in anticipation of the oncoming horde. What sounded like one-hundred claws soon turned the corner of the far hallway as Vasha peered around the corner cautiously. Dozens upon dozens of tiny aberrations, in hauntingly similar fashion to the last two waves of creatures, scurried towards the entrance of the hedron. Their appearances were as individualistic and unique as they could be: some appeared like a writhing, amorphous mass of fleshy-pink and deep-purple tentacles, with claws protruding from their mass. Other were more uniform, appearing like tiny humans with four arms and chitinous, faceless heads.
The bonfire which Kayn placed seemed to do little to try and stop them. Unfazed by seeing the flame, they began pouring through it, their screams echoing throughout the halls and rooms as some of them were consumed by the fire [1st two swarms failed their DEX saves, taking 8 fire damage and 3 fire damage]. Veythe and Rezivah's crossbow bolts immediately let loose upon the first of the creatures rounding the corner. They cascade into their ranks, piercing a small number of them. Ato positions his broadspear between the stone railings intricate handiwork and takes a jab at the creatures. His angle of attack is off, causing the spear to catch the railing and collide into the far wall, breaking the delicate spear. He curses to himself at his folly. Gripping the hook in one hand, Vasha bends low to carve through as many of these tiny aberrations as she can.
The sight of these tiny monstrosities scared Vasha slightly. What the hell were these things? She punched with each hand, trying to take out as many of them as possible. "This is bad," she said quietly. This fighting was going to start wearing on everyone. They needed to end this, now.
(Attack 1 - 19 to hit for 4 damage, Attack 2 - 15 to hit for 5 damage)
Dropping the now-useless spear, Ato hesitates as the writhing, crawling swarm of tiny abominations surges out of the hallway. Drawing from deep inside himself, he taps into his nearly exhausted reserves of mana and focuses the black energy. Thrusting his hand out before him, a jet of sickly green gas sprays forth from his extended palm, the cloud engulfing a portion of the leading swarm, but to no apparent effect - the hedron-spawn act as if completely unaffected. He drops back to give himself time to formulate a new strategy, and room to execute it, knowing that regardless of their size, they still must prevent these things from escaping the hedron and into the world beyond.
[Poison Spray: successful save, Disengage, move to D7, draw dagger & short sword]
Rezivah quickly loads another bolt into her crossbow. This time she ran up the stairs, having a better view of her targets and the situation. A horde of tiny aberrations were squirming out of the hallway, screeching, chittering, raking their claws against the walls, floor, and ceiling. Fortunately, these aberrations were small enough that a single bolt could injure and kill several of the monsters. Taking aim, she fires, killing another several of the swarm, but it still sounded as if many, many more were still down the hallway. Rezivah didn't have much more in terms of magic, and as long as Vasha and Ato held their positions, she could fire at range at any abomination that made it passed them. With that in mind, she pulls another crossbow bolt and loads it.
(Move to 8H, crossbow bolt fired, hit 1st swarm for 5 piercing)
Vesra flung a ball of flame at the closest horde, but it seemed to only hit already-dead ones at the front. “Not again,” she grumbled, trying to take at least a little cover behind the brazier.
Veythe, tired, cranky, and honestly just done with these things drifted until she could get a line on the creatures that came barrelling down the hall. With a huff she raised up Bravery, narrowed her eyes, and murmured a short, "Sorry, but you are pissing me off." She fired.
From atop his trusted boulder, Kayn conjures the essence of volcanoes, mountains, and raw fire, utilizing red mana to hurl a bolt of fire at the nearest horde. It roars to life as it soars through the air, cascading downward on the horde in a brilliant display of heat and fiery-death. The horde doesn't even have time to scream before they're all burned to a crisp.
It doesn't stop the advancement of the rest of the horde, however, as they continue forward toward freedom. The last group is able to avoid the fire, leaping to the side walls and back down on the other side of the bonfire Kayn had placed just seconds before. The first group swarms over Vasha, taking bites of her as she squirms and swats, trying to get them off. Taking her hook, she cuts through as many as she can in response [7 piercing damage]. The second group follows suit, but she's able to keep enough of them off to avoid them attacking her. They continue toward Rezivah, who panics and fires a crossbow, the shot going wide and completely missing the group, bouncing off of the stairs and the pillar behind which Vesra hides [natural 1]. Turning to avoid her, they begin making their way toward Ato.

Rezivah reprimands herself under her breath for losing her composure and runs after the hordes putting her crossbow back on the sling on her back. Condensing white mana around her, she produced several blades of piercing white energy, and thrust them outwards, damaging a few of both swarms of horrors. Seeing as the hordes kept their forward movement, she pulled her dagger and swordbreaker from their sleeves.
(Moved to 8E, cast Sword Burst damaging both hordes for 2 piercing, stow crossbow and wield swordbreaker and dagger)
Vasha felt the bites and scratches, knowing she wouldn't be able to take much more abuse from the little bastards. Anger welled up in her, seeing them trying to escape. She gave chase, taking a swing at one of the hordes, making contact with a few of them. Her second swing landed, but the creatures scattered, and her hook bounced off the floor.

Seeing her sister in dire straights, Vesra ran up from behind her and placed a hand on Vasha’s back. Acting as a conduit for the white mana all around her, she healed her twin. Her hand remained on her sister’s back, offering strength in the face of these monsters.
As the two clusters of nightmare creatures surge for the doorway, Ato attempts to hold his position and keep at least some of them from getting past. He lashes out with his shortsword, but the tiny abominations seem to merely flow around the blade. Snarling in frustration, he swipes at them with a dagger in a desperate attack with his left hand. Surprisingly, he has more success with this and does some damage.
"Booyahg!!" Kayn calls out with a sharp gesture. The bonfire on the other side of the hordes is extinguished and reignited next to his boulder. His red eyes pierce into the room and his sharp-toothed grin reflects the from the light outside. Afterwards he pulls his dagger, and hopping from leg to leg atop the boulder, it's as though he's in full goblin-mode.
As the abominations continued to skitter across the ground to the exit, Veythe loaded her crossbow and took aim. Just as she pulled the trigger, a wave of nausea overcame her, causing her to double over and making the bolt shoot wide, narrowly missing Rezivah.
With struggled attempts, the aberrations rushed towards the exit, attacking anyone who stood in there way. Their assaults were in vain though, and the group quickly retaliated, striking deep into both of the swarms.
