Scottie seeing everything happen so fast was stunned and unable to react at first [i.e. JacWalke was asleep] However, now he's got his bearings and cast Speak With Animals. Scottie quickly says to Vartok "Vartok we need your aid. Only you, the finest of Tarantulas can be our salvation in our time of need. Those keys you see my friend attempting to get. I need you to retrieve them for us. Do this and I cannot thank you enough. I will owe you a great debt. Please, Vartok help us."
[not 100% sure if this is Persuasion or Animal Handling. I'll roll both and you as the DM can decide. Also as a Firbolg, I have advantage on Charisma checks when trying to influence a beast or plant]
"Now we need too gather our possessions and leave before our hosts decide to extend their welcome.'' Haven quickly steps into the room Braithe had indicated the parties equipment was in and behind looking for his possessions.

[I swear i saw a post from our elf friend stepping out and opening the door. If not NM]
Mara stands by watching all these males try to take charge and is slightly impressed by the skills of the other female. She thinks stands there rehearsing their names in her mind, but only because she apparently is stuck with this lot. She is still not sure whom she should trust.
Scottie does not feel comfortable with Isuzu right now. As a Druid, he believes that undead are abominations against nature and need to be destroyed. Currently, he is ignoring the instinct to destroy the raised guard because he knows that the raised guard might be the only thing keeping him alive. However, he keeps a mental note to confront Isuzu about it later.
[Just to confirm: everybody is starting at Level 1.]
The singing seems to calm Braithe. Music seems to send him back to his life long ago [Isuzu gets inspiration].
Vartok calms at Arvidsjaur's touch, but it is only when Scottie is speaking to him that he realises something is off. It is harder than usual for him to use his abilities. He manages to get his message through before the connection between him and the spider severs. Vartok leaps off Braithe's shoulder and darts out with lightning speed. The spider hooks the key in his furry leg and slowly drags it back to the cell. He then quickly returns to Braithe's shoulder.
When the door is unlocked, [Everyone gets 50xp] Haven makes his way to the cell opposite and inspects the gear. He returns all the items as promised but also finds a potion of healing.
When Scottie gets all his gear back he quickly puts his totem amulet back on and dons his armor, shield, and quarterstaff. "We need to quickly and quietly get out of here before more guards arrive. I'll suggest that the quickest and quietest of us be in the front in order to scout out what lies ahead of us. I'm big and not that stealthy so I'll stay in the back with Braithe in order to keep him safe. If nobody has any objections lets move out once you don your armor and weapons."
Braithe responds well to the music, with a more regal spring in his step. "We follow the spiral stairs down to another cell block with six cells either side, then if we turn left after the cells we'll find a warden access passage: a long set of stairs that should take you to the ground floor. Hold on," Braithe taps his craggy upper lip. "You go right to the warden's passage. The left is the guards recreation hall. No, no, the left is the warden's passage, the right is the guards recreation hall."
Looking around at everyone in their armor Scottie is surprised to see that Isuzu is the most well armored. If nobody else is going to volunteer to take the point Scottie will speak up and say "I can take the point. I'm just worried about being big and causing a traffic jam if we run into anyone. Also, I'm pretty easy to spot, so, if we wanted to not be seen or get the surprise on someone I think someone else should take the point to scout ahead." With saying this he'll look at Mara and say "How about you? You seem quick, stealthy, and I'm sure more than capable of warning us of any danger ahead."
Scottie chuckles a little when he sees how defensive Vartok is of Braithe.
"And more importantly what are we going to do when get out of this nightmare tower," Braithe glanced over his shoulder. "All of Midgard is going to be swarming with those red devils, especially the city exits."
Braithe swings a finger in Zenhymm's direction. "You, you're a drow. You must be some sort of outcast. Do you have any contacts that could shelter us for a day or two?"
"Ah, so this is not work for men, eh, Isuzu? Yes, I can lead us and as I said my feet are generally quite light."
[I'm hesitant to be the leader, because I am about to head to class for the evening.]
Mara grabs her pack and quarterstaff and walks out of the cage as quietly as possible. She walks down the stairs and peaks around the corner to examine the next block of cells.
Stealth: 18
Perception: 6
Once she has looked around, she will come back to the group and let them know what she has seen.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Scottie is going to take this opportunity, while we are still figuring out what to do once we leave the tower, to inspect the dead guard. What kind of weapons he has and what kind of armor he is wearing? Also if there is anything else of interest on the Tiefling.
Investigation for inspecting the guard: 1d20 + 0 = 1
Once he is done with that he'll look at Braithe and ask "Is there any reason that the guards would escort prisoners out of the city? You see I have the magical ability to disguise myself and I could look like one of these Tieflings and potentially just bluff our way out of the front city."

Stay safe, Oddlot.

[Question: How tall are the rooms and the stairwell. Being over 7ft does Scottie have to duck to fit in the room/in the stairs.]
[They are ten-foot ceilings in the cell rooms]
