Glad to see that his meager supply of items was not damaged, and very glad to find more too add to his supply Haven dons his padded armor, slips a dagger into his belt shoulders his pack and tightly grips his quarter staff. "Mara I'll follow behind you. Perhaps my sleep spell can still get us out of here without a fight"
Mara peeks around the corner to find exactly what Braithe described to them. It is a narrow hall, about six feet wide, with a row of six cells either side. The cells are old, rusted shut, with the exception of the one on the far right, which has been left ajar. Just as Braithe foretold, there are two doors against the back wall. There seems to be something in the open cell, though Mara cannot see what.
Scottie checks the tiefling. He is wearing standard leather armour but has no weapon on him. He does, however, have a vial of acid.
"I don't see any reason why that couldn't work, But I also cannot fathom a reason for prisoner transfer from the Detention Tower in the middle of the night. Any ideas?"

Scottie will take the Vial of Acid off the Tiefling. He'll try to see if the vial of acid is natural and exactly how it works. Does it come from an animal or made from a plant or anything like that? He'll then proceed to take the armor off of the Tiefling guard and hand it to Braithe. "Here you go Braithe. Wear this, it should help protect you a little bit in case we get into a scuffle. Unfortunately, I'm not a good liar and my magic can only transform myself but perhaps someone can help me with what I should say if we cannot find another way out of the city."
The acid seems to have come from some sort of ooze, but Scottie cannot decipher any more than that.
Braithe takes the naked tiefling's armour and puts it on. Draped over the man's withered frame, he looks like a small boy in his father's soldier uniform.
"Smells sulphury, like a sweaty tiefling ass crack."
Haven turns to Braithe and asks "you were on the ruling council right? I'm sure your city had a problem with criminals, duo you know if there are any secret routes into or out of the city?"
"Of course there are, but the tieflings have access to them all. I propose we take the warden stairs to the left and once we hit the streets, we find the darkest, meanest tavern in the most violent neighbourhood ; somewhere they wouldn't go looking for us. And then we wait out the high guard presence and leave when the heat dies down."
"Sounds like a good idea..... But won't we stand out in any public area?" Haven looks to the party for ideas. "Either way the first step its leaving this tower lets begin and see where our feet take its" Haven sets off looking into the cell that was ajar.

Scottie will follow cautiously keeping an eye and ear out for anything that sounds or looks dangerous preparing to put his shield up and defend the old man if any danger rises.
"A coupe of escapees won't seem out of place in a tavern like The Sallow Sow. We pay enough gold, the barkeeper should keep us it of sight if any imperial guards came sniffing around. "
As you pass through the narrow corridor, you can all see a cloak made from fabric that shimmers and changes colour in the flickering light of the braziers on the wall. Scottie cannot explain why, but feels that there is something a little too good to be true about this magical item just lying around.
Scottie, not really trusting this item just lying around, is going to whisper just loud enough for everyone to hear "Nobody touch this cloak. I don't know what it is but I just don't trust it lying here. I think it may be some kind of trap."
"Only a boob would fall for that booby trap," Braithe giggled at his not so clever pun (if it can even be called that). "Anything over 10 lbs hit the pavers in that cell, the door would snap shut and you'd have every tiefling in the tower up here. "

Scottie will nod in agreement also ready to escape his prison. He will continue to follow the path Braithe described always keeping an eye and ear out for danger.
Perception check for keeping a look-out as we continue to travel out of the tower: 1d20+3 = 13
Mara was almost tempted to swipe the cloak, but, too, realized it was not the greatest idea in a place like this. She follows the lead of others, unless directed to sneak ahead to scope out the corridor.
Isuzu leads the way and the left door is a stone stairwell, exactly as the old man described. You all reach the bottom and open the door to a loading bay. Tears form in Braithe's eyes as he gets his first breaths of the relatively fresh air; then he freezes.
"That cloak," he screams. "That was King Thedas' cloak. It was bestowed to him by the elves of Northrim. It has the ability to make someone invisible. It's all coming back! We need to go back! Vartok could get across the pavers without being detected. There's still time. "
He scrambles for the door.
[dexterity check to see if you can grab him before he makes it back inside.]

As Scottie grabs Braithe he'll put both of his hands firmly on his shoulds. He's holding him firmly enough so that Braithe cannot attempt to dash away but gently enough not to hurt him. "Braithe calm down. Take deep breaths me now. In, Out, In, Out. Now, how important is that cloak? "
[Did each of its find a healing potion ]

"Let's just get out of this tower and improve our wardrobes later"

Braithe's breathing slows.
"My apologies. I don't know what came over me. We should get out of here. Where are we going?"
