Rey crouched over the circle, inspecting it as close as she dared. Picking at the material, she can tell the circle is made from a mixture of blood and resin. "Doesn't look like I can destroy this," she mumbled. "Orel," she said, speaking up. "I feel like this should be destroyed. Do you mind?" She pointed at the scythe.
Marius creeps around the circle in the opposite direction from Rey. The sense of wrongnessin this place is so overwhelming that he can't concentrate. His mind is foggy, his stomach churning with burning nausea.
"Some unholy power has desecrated this place..." he groans before rushing out of the room and vomiting over the railing down onto the entry level.

Orel shakes his head at Rey, then remembers she can't see it. "No. We can figure this out later," he says, "I'm going to clear out the rest of this floor."
Whatever threat was present in that room was restrained to that room. It could stay there until they burnt this house to the ground. He exits the doorway and makes his way to the final room on the left of the landing. Once the others arrive, he braces the door with his shield and attempts to open it much like he did the last room.
The door creaks loudly on its hinges as it opens and the unpleasant odor of unwashed body masked by too much perfume fills your nostrils. Much to your surprise, the room appears to be a posh and pristine living quarters, complete with canopy bed, personal hearth, and sitting area. The furniture and the plush crimson carpet are in immaculate condition. Over the top of a high-backed chair, you see a mop of black-and-silver hair, though the chair is facing directly away from the door, so you can't see any more of what appears to be an occupant...

The room was completely out of place. The lady sitting in the chair caused goosebumps to appear on his cold flesh. Raising his shield and preparing his flail, he cautiously approached her. "If you speak, speak now. Or we will end you," he says.
Marius sees Orel move into the other room, and slips along behind him, watching for danger.

Orel's spinning flail flies through the air, the spiked ball impacting the side of the chair and knocking the skull off of the creature in it. As the body topples out of the chair, it's huge clothing and thick bones bring to mind a male skeleton. From the dress, it looked like Hugh Crain. The skull continued moving as if laughing. In response, Orel smashes it to bits with his shield and turns to the doorway. "Prepare yourselves!" He calls out. He then braces for what's to come.
Rey was confused by what she heard Orel say, but when she heard the voice speak back, she felt chills go down her spine. Then she felt the chill breeze around her, the laughter, and doors banging. "Shit!" She pulled both her daggers out once again, leaving the symbol on the floor to dash into the hallway. "What the hell?"

Over the top of the guttural laughter echoing throughout the house and shaking the floors as well as your spirits, the ethereal voice of a little girl chimes in. She sings a song something like this...
There was a man what had a child;
Welia, welia, walia!
There was a man what had a child;
Down by the river Salia.
He had a pen knife three inch long;
Welia, welia, walia!

He plunged the knife in the wee child's head;
Welia, welia, walia!

She finishes with an amused little giggle before two of the doors across the hall burst open and you hear a metal grate opening from a lower floor as well...

Stone pulls himself out of the ritual room's sickle, agreeing silently that clearing known threats would be wiser than bringing new ones. Trailing behind the others, he stands just outside the newest door as Orel draws the ghostly voice. The monk snaps to attention and faces into the landing ready for the incoming threat. The sight of so many child zombies causes him to reconsider simply charging into the fray.

Seeing the room filling with what she could only assume to be undead children, Rey ducked down and slid into the shadows. She quietly moved her way to the closest one and lashed out at it with her beautiful new Geistbane. The dagger bit into its flesh, causing it to sway backwards, just as she brought her other dagger to attack, just barely grazing it.

"I suppose we've found all the children then," Elaine ran to Reycaryn's side and began to play a beautiful melody on her trusty viol. She needed to drown out that awful song the ghastly little girl was singing. A wave of thunder emanated from Elaine, hitting several of the zombie children, although not as solidly as she would have liked.
(Thunderwave, they all made their save so only 3 damage.)
Marius summons another burst of arcane force, and sends a crackling beam into one of the shambling approachers. "Hey - I think we know were all the kids were going!" he shouts, looking around for a position to get a better angle of attack. Those rickety stairs going up the back of the chimney...

The child-zombies clack their jaws hungrily before surging toward Rey, Elaine, and Stone.
3 of them encircle Stone, biting and pawing, though he manages to knock them away for the most part, taking only a minor nip to his wrist.
2 of them lunge toward Elaine with surprising ferocity, taking her off-guard and sinking their teeth deep into her sides.
2 snap and bite at Rey, who deflects the attacks of one, but the other catches one of her legs in its jaws and tears away a hunk of flesh.
"Yes, yes, children!" The man's voice booms out between cackles. "It's been so long since breakfast. You must be hungry. Eat, eat, EEEEEAAAAATTTTTT!"
The pounding from downstairs intensifies. You hear a heavy wooden door cracking and splintering under the pressure.
