Irommek was daydreaming about his old sailing days when the conversation brings him back to the current moment. Seeing that there might be trouble ahead, he takes extra care in his rowing and unclips the holder for his hammer in his belt in case he needs to draw it quickly.
The afternoon and the night pass with no encounter as well. The party is not sure if this is a sign of good luck. In any case, a few hours after the breakfast (day 8), the statue of the Man and the Crocodile is finally in sight. Musharib stops the canoe 100 feet from what appears to an abandoned camp. The party has finally reached Camp Righteous.
From the canoe, Kurma can see clearly that the camp is totally abandoned and strewn with wreckage. No creature seems to be around the camp...aside a group of small, masked humanoids trying to hide in the foliage north of the camp. Batiri goblins!
Kurma discreetly warn the group. " Nothing alive in the camp from what I see, but I have noticed a group of goblins hiding in the bushes in the North... What do you want to do?" Then adding with a big smile: I propose to pretend to not have spotted them and surprise attack them ?"

"What? Where? I don't see anything!" Gertrude is lost. "Did they see us? Is that why they're hiding? Can you see how many?"
"I think, we should moor the canoes just here and then try and attack from their backs - unless, Kurma, you think they saw us - then I am with you, just walk in, looking like gold diggers, hiding our weapons and surprising them!!"
"I speak goblin, while these may not the the exact dialect of what I know, I may be able to communicate with them. I and someone can go straight in while the rest of you get to an advantage spot? It may not always be wise to split the group, but we may be able to reason with them? They may be struggling with the undead curse too. Worse comes to wors...me and another can distract them while you others get a ambush ready. What say you all?"

"That works too! Don't know how you would ever wanna learn a gibberish language like that. I don't trust goblins. But I trust in you, Oniss, you have been a very good negotiator so far!"
“Aye, I too know how to speak their language. On the Sword Coast, they tended to be lackeys for much more dangerous enemies, so I’ve learned that gathering information from them could be useful. But I would prefer to use them for target practice most of the time. I’ll circle around with the others and translate for them while you are negotiating. If it starts to go south, give us a signal, maybe scratching your arse or something , and we’ll jump them.”
Irommek was smiling at the thought of cutting loose with the tension that has been building for the past couple of days.
"If we agree then, Gertrude would you accompany me? You may be difficult to sneak around with your size. We will wait for 15-20 minutes and approach the shores by canoe announcing our presence. This should allow you enough time to flank them and get the drop if needed. If I feel think are going south I will signal with a loud choking cough and start the attack. From your position though if you feel like it is going south feel free to use your judgement."
Oniss looks to the team,
"Any objections or suggestions for change?"
\\OOC - I will wait until the rest of the group is up to date before proceeding.\\
Brunella speaks. "Splitting up is what got me almost killed with the frogs, but I can't say that staying together wouldn't have been worse. Be careful, it's easy to underestimate goblins, until their knives are at your throat. Irommek should accompany you instead of Gertrude. It's not her size that matters but the noise." Brunella points to the interlinked pieces of steel making up the dwarf's chain mail.
She starts to prepare to move away, turning her canoe quietly away and looking for a good place to dock. Over her shoulder, she calls out "And Oniss? If it comes to battle, cast your spells on the enemies that are already damaged. That can make the difference between life and death."
(OOC: Kurma can take turns casting guidance on us one at a time for stealth, and use the help action. It will take longer but be more likely we are all stealthy. Also i think Irommek should accompany Oniss instead of Gertrude, since it is hard for him to be stealthy in his armor).
Oniss looks at Brunella and raises an eyebrow to her battle comment.
"We all have different strategies. Battle is something I will always avoid if I can, and with this lot I do not plan to get close enough for a knife to be at my throat. One doesn't stay as pretty as I have by diving into conflict."
Felix still quite will stealthily leave the canoe and try to spot the goblins. "The ambush part should be Mushy, Inete, Burnella, Gerturde and me."
Stealth: 20
" Felix, good idea. Oniss, take Kurma and Irommek. Kurma can hold his own with the turtle shell protecting him. Irommek, stay close to him. And maybe you can have your backs up against a tent so that they can't surround you. Oniss. Be ready to step back at the first sign of danger! Now let's follow Felix and Brunella, they have already vanished to take up positions..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kurma goes with the sneaky group, not before casting guidance on himself. Stealth16 + 3
but then, Kurma realises that hiding is not his way, "I will go with Oniss, If something turn bad, at least I can heal them right away".. On that Kurma, turn his back and rejoins Oniss and Irommek
OOC: sorry.. got lost on what Kurma was suppose to do :p
OOC Oniss can go ahead and play the negotiation with the goblins. The other group (Gertrude + Brunella + Felix + Musharib + Inete) is hiding somewhere (specify a location).
Since Kurma is now behind Oniss, he will place his hand on his shoulder and whisper some blessing. Oniss has now Guidance (1d4 for any skill test in the next minute)

The party passes without harm through the muddy zone. Although, it is possible to see shapes of several ravenous fishes through the water.
The journey proceeds nicely to noon and lunch time.
Felix is keeping his eyes open since he's been getting the eerie feeling since this morning.

From the canoes, can Kurma detect anything moving or out of place ?
