The underground river widens to form a flooded grotto. To the west, a pebble-strewn bank rises to a door recessed in the cavern wall. Near the middle of the lake, bones cling like a tide mark to a rocky pillar. "Look the puppy in the eyes, you do not. Many eyes, it has... and heads." Bag of Nails seems to have impeccable timing because from behind the pillar a terrifying creature shows itself. A five-head reptilian behemoth seems intent to feast and chew on a few corpses still floating on the river.

Gertrude glides off the back of the crocodile into the water. There she waits for Irommek to give the command to send the crocodiles from the other side towards the hydra. She'll hang back and wait for her friends to make it safely to the other side. She'll also watch if Oniss's Mage Hand manoeuvre works.

Gertrude waits for the group to move along the outside wall towards the south of the river. She herself glides off the back of the crocodile into the water, trying to hide herself from the spying hydra head. (Storm soul: breathe under water, swimming speed 30ft).
When Irommek sends his crocs to create a diversion, she dives under the water and mimicking a crocodile 'walks' along the ground of the basin towards the island. When she lifts her head out of the water slowly, she makes sure to have to column of the island between her and the beast. She tries to assess the situation, how easy is it to grab the purse and the cape.
