A slight drizzle of snow begins to sugar coat the forest as a cold chill blows through across your face. The sun had just set and the light was slowly retreating.
We find ourselves walking up to a campfire already lit. Surrounding the camp fire are faces familiar to some, unfamiliar to others. We were all directed here for the same mission. A goblin nest has settled in the nearby caves and have began to make the nearby villages anxious, and they organized to send a number of able bodies to exterminate the threat.
Looking around, we wonder which of us would organize ourselves and speak first.
I step up, "I am Saproth Orphanwood." A man in a dark greenish robe introduced himself. "I guess we all know why were here. I hope we can all work together," I nod and expect someone to else to introduce themselves.
"Hi everyone." A halfling wearing a colourful coat stands up. "I'm Perton Hedgehopper. Umm this is kinda my first time doing anything like this but if we can help the villages then that's a job well done." He awkwardly sits back down
"Glad to meet you Perton, a rogue I assume?" Saproth offered his hand for a shake, "I am a Druid, myself. No worries... I dont expect much opposition from a group of goblins... I believe we can handle at least 10..." Saproth's reassurance came.
"As you all must know, the surrounding villages are very concerned... most of them being farm folk, and offer real no defense against if these goblins ever organize and decide to mount an offence against any of them." Saproth suggested. "So unfortunately, we have to be proactive..."
Saproth turned his attention to the rest if anyone else would be kind enough to introduce themselves.
The Dragonborn clears her throat, her bronze scales flashing in the light from the campfire, contrasting with the silver of the chainmail she wears. "I am T'ohra, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." She says, her tone warm, one hand resting on the head of her warhammer, the other gripping her shield. "We will see this task done, of that I'm certain."

"Glad you can join us," Saproths eyes widen in admiration of the splendid bronze as they glittered against the fires.
But before Saproth could say another word, everyone then started to quiet when panicked footsteps started to pound towards our camp. The light snow amplified the crunch sound of the quick paces of the steps. Panting came louder with the steps running to our direction.
OUT OF CHARACTER: How do we roll for initiative? Whats the code for dice?
Perton while looking at the big dragon lady hears the fast crunching of snow, a slight chill goes up his back, is it another adventurer or something dangerous. He pulls out his short sword and lifts up his shield (like he's practiced many times at home) and is 'ready' for whatever is coming towards him
T'ohra gives her Warhammer a flourish, reaching out to put a hand on Saproth's shoulder and casts Guidance, then steps away, bringing up her shield as she readies herself for combat.

The running goblin seems to be more concerned about what it was running away from rather than realizing the danger it has put itself in. Overwhelmed with the sight of unfamiliar men around it, the goblin lost its footing and feel face first into the thin snowed dirt. "NOT KILL SMEE!" The panicked creature cried as it curled into a fetal position trying to protect itself.
It apparently has no intention of mounting an assault... at least at the moment.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
T'ohra tilts her head in though before she walks over to the groveling creature, dropping the head of her warhammer next to its head and leaning in close, flashing her teeth in a threatening smile. "I was asked here to deliver unto you and yours a righteous storm. Speak quickly, and convince me that you are worthy of mercy."

It doesnt take much to strike fear into the hapless mess, it curled up in a ball even further, paralized by fear... "Kill no Smee!" It only continued to utter, shaking in terror and holding its eyes closed.
T'ohra's scaled brow furrowed in annoyance, and she shakes her head. "I've no time for cowards. From what do you flee? Answer, or I'll send you to your gods."

"Noo~! Kill no Smee!" The Goblin tried to crawl towards the Dragonborn reaching for her leg, begging for mercy, "Goblins run... flee for life~! Many die~!" It pointed back from where it came from. "Monster capture, mistake~!" It replied.
The Dragonborn snorts derisively at the goblin, then turns to look at her companions. "It sounds as though these pitiable fools may have courted a far greater danger than themselves, to ill effect. I'd rather not leave it to menace the countryside. What say you lot?"

"Thor grant me patience." T'ohra mutters under her breath, before sighing, turning to look once more at the Goblin. "Well, if we're to save your kin, will you fight, or are you to continue fleeing into the shadows?" She asks.

The goblin tried to get on its feet, it seem to limp in its movement, "No want go back... danger~!" It shook its head.
Perhaps the adrenaline from the initial shock had propelled the goblin away, but it seems it was not in any condition to amount any service in its current condition.
"Should we trust him?" came Saproth's suspicions, "I mean, their not the most trust worthy race..." he suggested.
"I'm not concerned about a single injured Goblin, and our task would have called us forward regardless. If the coward so wishes to shame himself, so be it." T'ohra says firmly.

Saproth pulled some rope out, "If its all the same to you, I'd rather be on the safe side..." He motioned if anyone would object to having their goblin friend tied up.
The goblin was hesitant... but saw no way for him to resist. "Please... no tie up Smee~!" the goblin pleaded, "Smee good~ Smee very good~!" He tried to assure everyone, pointing to his injuries for pitty.
Saproth looked to the rest of the party. "Any objections?" as he offered up the rope. "I mean, we're wasting time here... and Im sure you all have other engagements you would rather be entangled with rather than menial goblin extermination... So the sooner we get along..." Saproth motioned for them to get on the way.

(I believe one of you would need to create a campaign for others to join first. Don't quote me on that, I haven't done it before.)

IN GAME:
Saproth also springs to alert like a lion preparing to leap on its pray.
The noise came from the direction of the caves so there is no doubt what this approaching threat could be.
A goblin darted through the woods into their camp and was unaware their were people there.
OOC: So my character doesnt do anything, your turn T'ohra
T'ohra gives her Warhammer a flourish, reaching out to put a hand on Saproth's shoulder and casts Guidance, then steps away, bringing up her shield as she readies herself for combat.

Saproth nodded, "I too am curious what this goblin has got itself into..." He smiled with a little empathy for the poor creature.
The goblin tried to look around to see if it was in relative safety with the lot. "Smee please! No harm Smee! Help~!?" It said with puppydog eyes.
