You are called by Cheum from whatever you are currently doing to pass the time to gather at his tent in the center of camp. You currently have set camp in the middle of the Sylvend forest, you consider yourselves nomads, moving from place to place often, but you consider this large clearing your home base. The Sylvenders are okay with you setting up a base in thier forests, Cheum is trying to convince them to become your allies, but thier high council doesn't want this to turn into a three way war.
The peacekeeping group you're involved in consists of easily a hundred people of varying races set on ending the war once and for all. Cheum often takes groups of about four to six to set out on small special tasks or missions. You have been selected, and this is your first mission.
"At my diplomatic meetings Olena Anclen," says Cheum as you arrive at the briefing session (Olena Anclen is the capital Sylvend city), "I've heard spreading rumors of mysterous folk, big and bulky, large horns, tusks, and all. I didn't believe them at first, but now, I'm beginning to think they're true. Our scouts have reported seeing exactly what the Sylvenders have been talking about, and all of them were scared out of thier minds." You do recall scouts returning to camp, looking frightened as heck, but you were unsure why. "The scouts have spotted what seems to be an encampment of sorts. If you'd prefer a simpler task, please let me know. I am aware that this is your first mission, all of you, and I don't want you starting with something as difficult as this if you don't think you can succeed. I greatly encourage for you all to go and it would give you great experience." He takes time to look each one of you in the eye, "Now, any questions?"

"The hero sought to save the world.
"If I keep trying, I'll be able to win," the hero thought.
But the harder the hero fought, the further the world seemed to tumble away.
Drowning in doubt, the hero could not even save themselves.
Hero, if you still believe in a brighter future, hold in your heart a thorn that can pierce all doubt."
"I am ready. My fire will bring them to ashes!" Kozkar says, seemingly excited to fight. After he says this, he accidentally sets his pants on fire, which quickly sputters out. He pays it no attention, as if it happens often
Startled out of his reverie by Kozkar's enthusiasm, Mon absentmindedly runs his hand through his hair as he speaks, his voice quiet and breathy, "Yes, Cheum, I do share Kozcar's feelings toward this mission, though admittedly with somewhat less... boistrous enthusiasm." He eyes Kozkar studiously before turning his gaze back to Cheum, meeting the Lamaran's eyes with his own. "I presume we are to eliminate the... creatures?" An eager grin briefly curves Mon's lips.
Kordahl looks at Cheum, "Have these creatures taken any hostile action that warrants an attack? I am loathe to swing my blade against those mysterious folk if their only crime is being unfamiliar and strange to our eyes."
"That's the thing, we don't know. Preferably you don't directly attack and try a less hostile approach, do not engage in combat unless they do first. They appear to be violent folk, one of the scouts reported seeing what appeared to be blood and gore splattered all over their camp along with mangled humanoid remains. I am still unsure of what you will find out there, be on your guard."

Fillian stood at the back of the group, as he so often did. His steel helm covered his face, just as the rest of his armor covered the rest of his body. Fingering the sword at his waist, the Lamathan thought about why he was here.
It had been a job. Something simple and easy. He had to go find a poor girl's lost doll. He didn't know why he had done it. The action was outside his usual pattern. Well he found it and he promised to come visit the girl again.
However, when Fillian had gotten back to the girl, the war had claimed her and her home. It laid in ruins, her torn body laying, half-rotten across the ground. Clasped in her dead hands was a doll. The same one from all those years ago.
Fillian now held this doll. It was clasped in his right hand. He kept it close to him at all times. A reminder and a promise.
His thoughts swiftly returning to the present, Fillian considered the job before them. Sounded simple enough, hopefully it would prove itself to be that way as well.
"Well then," Kordahl nods at Cheum's words and shifts a hand to the hilt of his sword, "We'll see the truth of it ourselves, I suppose. When would you have us depart?"
Solomon looking at the lone Iron warrior (Fillian) will walk up and place a hand on his shoulder. He stares for a few second then nods his head patting you shoulder then walking to the Sylvendain and give his greeting.
Solomon: "Looking at Fillian he could feel the energy swirling around him. Not able to full understand this just offers a prayer placing his hand on Fillian's shoulder. He notices the Sylvendain and greet him with a smile and then bowing."
To Fillian minus the glasses and has red eyes lol.

Glyndithas watches the room. He's excited to be here, but nervous, as well. He wonders if he can trust these compatriots, if they are so eager to slaughter.
Glyn speaks up, "I am willing to go. Though, I have one question. You described these beings as 'folk,' are they people or are they beasts?"
"I am ready," Mon closes the book he had been reading to this point, dust poofing outward from the pages as he does, "I feel there will be much to learn from this... Encounter. Is there a map to the encampment, or a trail to follow? Or perhaps one of the scouts from before is to lead us?"
"And worry not, Sylvinder," Mon turns and smiles at Glyn, seeing the look on his face, "If violence is unnecessary, then violence will be unused. I, for one, am excited to learn about these strange creatures, monsters or otherwise."
Kordahl nods again at Mon's words, then addresses Glyn, "If they are a kindly folk then they have nothing to fear from me." He turns and sketches a salute towards Cheum. "Ready to go."
Kozkar is not entirely sure about "learning" about these beasts, but he is suspicious of them, and was not able to see the attackers of his home, making them possible suspects.
"I wouldn't consider them beasts nor people like us, we still have to learn more." he pauses for a moment as Mon asks his question, "One of the scouts who found them is waiting for you on the east side of camp, he will lead you there." Arriving at the east side of camp, a young Kamonkan greets you, "M-my name is Oelen, umm... follow me." He proceeds to lead you through a small winding trail through dense woods. You travel for aproximately a half hour before reaching your destination, "They're up ahead, a little bit, I-I'll stay back here."
(What's your plan?)

Kordahl will observe to the party at large, "What we are most lacking at this point is information. Perhaps some of our party would be willing to range ahead and report back?" He gestures ruefully at his chainmail, which has been gently clinking along the trail, "I am, unfortunately, somewhat conspicuous or I'd go myself."
Kozkar resists the urge to run in himself, for he agrees with Kordahl, but is not the most stealthy person in the group. More like he would attack one of them when he is close enough.
"I agree. But I should not go, Unless there is no other choice"
