Izek then concludes, "You are troublemakers. You must be watched closely. I will report you to Baron Vargas Vallakovich, the burgomaster."
"Report away, Izek - I'm too tired and bloodied to care right now. We saved the children. That's all that matters," Valanthe replies very tiredly. She goes back to her drink and tells Byllemura and Erme, "I need to bandage up my wounds and rest soon. I'm tapped out."
Valanthe closes here eyes for a brief moment and activates her 'divine sense.'
// Divine Sense - Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type (celestial, fiend, or undead) of any being whose presence you sense, but not its identity. ... there's no mention of spell components, (somatic or verbal) so I'm working under the assumption that Valanthe can do this without Izrek knowing she did so, because otherwise, she wouldn't do it... LOL //
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“I caught a second wind on our walk back...I think Kelemvor approved of what we did with the hags, and gave me some power. Here,” she places a hand on Valanthe and murmur a quick prayer.
Radiant light washes over Valanthe, it seems that what was bleeding has stopped and many of the visible cuts have healed over. "I feel MUCH better - thanks!" Valanthe says with a smile. She stands up and stretches looking invigorated.
"Troublemakers as in saviors of the children your people was feeding hags with? Interesting point of view." grumbles Byllemura. "I think a discussion with the burgomaster is in order. In the mean time, I need a good nigh's rest. If you'll excuse me..." she says as she gets up and goes upstairs.
Izek strides out of the inn, slamming the door behind him.
Using Divine sense, Valanthe detects a subtle fiendish aura, yet Izek is no being from the lower planes.
It is late at night. You are at the inn where you have rooms reserved. There is enough time for a Long Rest.

Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
Thpas will follow Izek. “There’s no need to take off in a huff. We’re all friends here” attempting to smooth things over.
Izek seemingly ignores Thpas as he walks along side. Then, Izek turns a corner. When Thpas turns the corner also, Izek's fist flies at his face! Thpas is caught by surprise and staggers from the pain in his jaw. "If you think that you can get yourself out of trouble, you are very, very wrong." Izek holds his monstrous hand close to Thpas' face, and then snaps is fingers. With that, Izek's demonic appendages burst into flame! The fire dances along Izeks hand, not seeming to harm him one bit. Izek moves the flaming hand closer to Thpas' face. "I've branded many troublemakers before. I will not hesitate to mark another one." Thpas can feel the heat of the flame only an inch from his face.

"Thpas, just let him go..." Emre calls out as Thpas leaves the inn. She sighs. "Not sure what's going on here, but maybe we'd better go and make sure he's not getting into more trouble. I get the feeling that we're not entirely welcome here."
Emre makes to follow Thpas after he left through the door.
Thpas laughs, blowing a rocket of blood from his nose into a nearby puddle. “You wouldn’t be the first to scar me, and I doubt you’ll be the last... but I’ll take your point. After all, it’s not every day someone blows into town and does your job better than you could.”
Again, he chuckles. “I get it... You’re not here to make friends.” Thpas gives Iznek a wink, and turns his back to him as he walks back toward the Inn.

Thpas grins as if he knows a secret “He's all talk. He had his chance to take me down and he stopped short.” Wiping a bit of blood from his nose, he continues "This is just further proof, I think. He’s not the type to finish what he starts... he makes a name for himself but won’t do his job. He hears of problems and makes excuses, refusing to investigate. I think we can expect more of this behavior should we continue to deal with him. Perhaps it would be better to deal directly with his master.” By the time they return to the inn, Thpas will guzzle down the drink he left before, and retire to his room.
"I'm all for dealing with problems head on," says Emre. "But we shouldn't be circumventing the law of the town. Maybe we could try better to play nice? He probably just wants to do his best to protect Vallaki."
Rictavio emerges from the shadows and comes to your table. "Well, that's Izek Stranzi for you!" he says, managing a nervous chuckle. "He has become so much like the burgomaster. He never likes to be thought of as inferior to anyone. He gets bored of his job and tries to make it interesting by arresting people as he pleases."
Ireena takes the children upstairs.

Thpas will sit at the bar, and order a drink. He doesn’t touch it until Izek leaves the establishment. (OOC: is there enough time for a short rest?)
