Struggling in Doru's grasp, Valanthe looks up at him and says, "Well, now you're closer to my blade..."
Valanthe thrusts her longsword up (Attack 17 ) and imbues her sword with radiant energy (divine smite @ 1st level, +2d8, +1d8 for undead) as she pushes her blade through Doru (Damage: Piercing - 6 Radiant - 10 )
//btw everyone - I hope you've been attacking with advantage, as the Faerie Fire provides that - Valanthe hasn't broken her concentration yet... but that may change. Lol//
//if 17 doesn't hit change the narrative appropriately, but I'm really hoping it does... Lol//

// Oops, forgot about faerie fire. @dm may I roll a second time my to hits to take the advantage into account? No is a perfectly acceptable answer ;)

(OOC: Didn't use advantage, still crit. Anyway. Shall I roll damage again?
I'm going to say no to changing the rolls because it would be kind of messy. Just remember that next round you have advantage.

Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
Byllemura's turn. Doru tightens his grip around Valanthe's neck.

Byllemura, frustrated that her rays of fire missed Doru entirely, focuses once again on the globe of crystal perched at the top of her staff. An orb forms in her left hand, radiating of raw lightning energy. As she lunges forward, shouting "Release my comrade, evil being!", she hurls the magic sphere at Doru, a stern look across her face.
Doru shrieks in pain then breaks down cackling madly, his grip still on Valanthe.
Thpas' turn.

Thpas shouts at the creature, casting Command "FLEE" (WIS13) his word hangs in the air for a moment. "We are not what you crave. You will find what you need elsewhere."
If you must have Doru's statistics, he is a vampire spawn whose regeneration feature doesn't function due to lack of blood. His regeneration feature functions once more if he drains blood.

// Thanks! Didn't need his stats, and not trying to metagame; just wanted to know if Emre could tell he wasn't undead because Command worked on him. I've been assuming he was this whole time! She has a particular hatred for the undead. Will take a look asap, and also get my turn up, soon as I can get to the computer. //
// EDIT: Just looked, sorry for the confusion, he is undead and my question is moot. Thanks again for the clarification! //
Doru cackles madly, unaffected by Thpas' command spell.
He then pulls Valanthe close to him and reveals a set of dagger-like fangs.
Attack Roll: 13
Valanthe manages to avoid Doru's fangs but Doru still has hold on her (note: Valanthe is grappled, thus the only action or reaction she can take is to make a Strength check to escape).
Sorry Kickinitlegit, just checked and discovered that undead are immune to command so I am re-posting Doru's turn.

Doru shrieks in pain and cries "Father! SAAAAAVE MEEEEE!"
He releases Valanthe, dropping her on the ground and scampering towards the darkest corner of the undercroft (Thpas and Byllemura have opportunity attacks if they choose to take them).

Valanthe charges in with her sword arcing in a swing at Doru, singing, the whole time, a drow dirge of sorrow... at a moment of crescendo, divine light permeates her sword (divine smite)! Attack: 15 Damage: 13 + 11
Upon being hit by Valanthe's attack, Doru lets out a dying scream and is consumed in a flash of radiant light, leaving a withered husk behind.
