"Eep!" Harmony squeaks as the bloodied man bursts through the door, before running over to him to begin administering aid. "Who took your Daisy? Where did they go?" She looks up and out the door at both Ravenath and Lucius outside. "Do either of you see anything?"

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
I grab one of the drinks on the table and walk over to the man and Harmony. "Here, drink some." I try to hand the drink over to him. "What happened?" I asked him.
(Ravenath and Lucius rush to the door and look outside, but see nothing at all. Nobody is out there and nothing looks suspicious.)
(Inside, the man looks up at the young Halfling, still sobbing, but with a look of gratitude in his eyes. His cuts don't seem to be too deep, but you can tell his face is probably going to be swollen and bruised for days. He is too distraught to take the drink being offered.)
"Rickard! What's happened?"
(Armand rushes to the side of the fallen man, who is still very distraught. His injuries, though numerous, do not seem to be the main source of his despair. He tries to compose himself, trying to answer in between sobs.)
"Gob... goblins. They broke into my workshop. I-I-I tried to stop them... I think I even killed one of them. But there were too many. They stabbed at me and beat me with clubs and... when I woke up my daughter was... gone!"
(Rickard quietly sobs as the crowd murmurs their disbelief. Armand starts explaining things to Roscoe as most of the rest of the party starts gathering closer.)
"Rickard is the Blacksmith here. And Daisy, sweet little Daisy is his 8 year-old daughter. She means the world to him. All he has ever since his wife passed a few years ago."
(A look of sudden realization appears on Armand's face, a smile on his lips.)
"Rickard, my friend, don't despair! Look here! These here fine folks (he points towards the party) are skilled adventurers!"
“You-you’re adventurers? Please, you’ve got to help me! If I lost my Bess, I… I… I can pay you! I don’t have much, but I would give all the gold I have in the world if you can get my daughter back to me safely. Will you help me? Please, I beg you!”
(Rickard throws himself, both figuratively and literally, at the feet of the party, begging for help. The party begins to talk amongst themselves.)
(The grateful Blacksmith goes around thanking the adventurers, alternately hugging and enthusiastically shaking the hands of the brave party who has agreed to help him. He thinks for a moment before speaking.)
"As far as where they could have taken her... I haven't got a clue. I mean, I didn't even know there were goblins in these parts. I'm pretty sure there's a dead goblin in my workshop, maybe we can figure out where they went if we go back there? It's on the north edge of town."
(He looks at you all expectantly.)
DM's Note: If you just want to go to the shop there's not really a need to RP, I'll assume you want to go. If you want to do something else first then please go ahead and post. If you don't post then I'm assuming you just follow the Blacksmith to his shop.
-Let's go to the workshop to check that dead goblin. Maybe we can find some lead to their lair. -get near the blacksmith- Here, use my shoulder. Can you walk?
(The party follows Rickard to his workshop on the North edge of town. The signs of a struggle are everywhere: Broken pots litter the floor, splintered chairs and tables, etc. A goblin lays dead on the floor, a poker thus his chest. The layout of his workshop is roughly as shown:
"Well, here it is. I haven't really had a chance to look things over, I went for help as soon as I came to."
DM's Note: You are free to look around. Remember, if you're going to roll, the difference between Perception (I look and see...) and Investigation (I see and deduce...) Also, sorry for the crappy Paint drawing, it's not to scale or anything, it's just meant to give you all a rough idea of how everything is set up.
(Roscoe, Harmony and Ravenath begin to examine the area around the Goblin corpse. He seems to have been young. He's wearing dirty, ratty leather armor, a rusty dagger tucked in his belt. Ravenath actually searches a little more thoroughly and finds 10 copper pieces and a few buttons and rocks in his pouch. The blacksmith tool seems to have caught him right in his little goblin heart, so you're pretty sure he died instantly.)
Spoiler for Lucius:
Lucius sees all of that, but also steps back to try to take in the bigger picture. He notices that there seem to be multiple sets of tracks heading out one of the doors and follows some of the way. They seem to head out to the back and towards a far off fence on the northeast side of the complex. From far away, the gate looks to have been broken.
DM's notes: Ok, this is my bad for not being more clear. If you want to investigate something, you have to be a little more specific about what you are investigating. "I'm looking at the table" or "I go investigate the bedroom", etc. Perception is a bit more general, so you can look at larger areas no problem to get an overall picture of what you see. But Investigation is more specific. Just FYI.
Also, if you determine something the rest of the party doesn't (I will usually put that in spoilers for you) it is up to you to convey that information to the rest of the players, otherwise, they don't know what you found.

"I say we do this. I mean we're all here, and he really needs the help." I said as everyone was getting together.
Radagast go back inside at the time the blacksmith is telling the story of the kidnap.
"Of course we will help. Were is your workshop. Tell us, there is no time to lose"
*I walk back inside and crouch next to Rickard, hook my arm around his and attempt to pull him up.
"Stand up, man, you need to pull yourself together. Of course we will find her. Now, tell us more. Where were you? Did you see which way they went?"
"Yes, yes!" Harmony exclaims, perking up a bit. "We'll bring your daughter back from those meanie goblins."
"Thank you! Bless you all!"
(The grateful Blacksmith goes around thanking the adventurers, alternately hugging and enthusiastically shaking the hands of the brave party who has agreed to help him. He thinks for a moment before speaking.)

(We can just go to the shop)

Harmony starts her search over by the dead goblin, gingerly prodding here and there as she looks for clues.
Perception: 6
I look around at the scene and try to deduce what happened.
Investigation: 6
(Man we are bad at investigating)
[Okay, help me out here. What am I rolling for a perception check?]
(If I'm right, then you roll a 1d20 and add any Perception modifier you have on your character sheet)
[Thank you]
*I move slowly aroud the workshop, drinking in the details while looking for any clues there might be.*
Perception: 16
[I hope I did that correctly!]
After leaving the blacksmith in a chair on his workshop I go directly to the fighting place and the goblin. I look for any clue of what happened here.
Investigation: 14
