So long story short, I see the qualifier for moving from chapter 3 to 4 is the party rummaging some uthgardt barbarian burial grounds. They're in Amphail right now and just ran into the giant lady crying in a tower. I have 0 idea how to go from here to one of the burial grounds. How did some of ya'll deal with this? And what would be a cool idea to get them heading that direction?
Maybe my notes are off, but 3->4 was about introducing the party to Harshnaag then going off to find the Temple.
To do this, I planted rumours/whispers about him and basically guided the party to him slowly under the premise that he has more information. Along the way, the party has picked up bits of knowledge about what may be happening, but don't really have the big picture yet. That should come into focus with Harshnaag and the Temple. I also planted some clues to help the party navigate The temple.
Now, if you mean the next transition, for the party "proving their worth" as it were AFTER going to the temple for the first time. I ditched part of this as I didn't really like how the burial grounds were set up. Instead, you can make "tombs" for each of the barbarian leaders and have smaller 6-12 room dungeons for them. In your first tomb you can then have a clue to lead the party elsewhere and begin an archaeological/dungeon delving hunt.
For my group however, I just had the Oracle let them go ahead and choose the path, then had the temple attack as the party exited, then a day later had the airship arrive to "help".
Was that what you were asking?

"An' things ha' come to a pretty pass, ye ken, if people are going to leave stuff like that aroound where innocent people could accidentally smash the door doon and lever the bars aside and take the big chain off'f the cupboard and pick the lock and drink it!"
I’ve ran Storm King twice and played it once. The best thing to do is follow the advice above. Bread crumbs in D&D is one of the best things you can use as a DM. Feeling stuck happens to all of at one point or another. So don’t get bogged down by that because you came to the right place. The best thing to do is to get through this is to have maybe a woman or a man injured by the next tribe and running from them. People in distress always gets a party motivated, unless they are murder hobos. Then they might kill the distressed person lol

"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

It may not have been exactly what I was asking but it sure as heck was exactly the right answer for me. Thank you!
