I'm going to be running Curse of Strahd soon with 4 players. Curse of Strahd can usually end anywhere between levels 6-10. Are there any modules like Curse of Strahd that CoS transitions into really well?
I started my group with Lost Mine of Phandelver, after which, at level 3, I had them spirited away to Barovia for CoS. (I skipped the Death House into adventure). If/when they escape I'm going to have them return to Faerun in the middle of Storm King's thunder. I'll probably have them start SKT right after the event of chapter 2 (they will hear about what happened at Bryn Shander, Goldenfields, and Triboar), and they can head off across the Savage Frontier (chapter 3) with some giant encounters leading to Chapter 4 and then follow the adventure as written from there.

You don't OWN your books on DDB: WotC can change them any time. What do you think will happen when OneD&D comes out?
Most of them get deep into the story at that point, so the challenge is getting them quickly drawn into a new plot. I can recommend SKT, as PCs are supposed to be 5 when the get into the main story path. You could have the party escape Barovia and wind up exiting the mists into the middle of one of the three Giant attacks on a major town. You will have to add some thematically appropriate monsters to up the challenge for encounters based on your level range. If you have Volo's just add one of the specialized giant variants to each combat, they are really fun to run as a DM and my players got a kick out of them.
