Im wondering if you also create a new version of the subrace if it will allow linking. If that doesn't work, then it's 100% not working as it should and I'll need to start whipping Hartless more :P
See 'Edit2'... I already had that same thought, but couldn't see any new options when I tried it.
Hello there, Hope everyone had a great St. Patty's Day!
I've been having a bit of trouble with the last homebrew race I created and was hoping you could either point me in the right direction or perhaps let me know where I'm going wrong. I created a genasi subclass (translating from the pen/paper one that we've been using for her) for one of my players who finally joined dndbeyong and is planning on giving using her iPad a shot for the next time we play together.
I've added all of the modifiers & double checked them, but once i change her race on her online character sheet it just keeps giving me an error message.
I even tried removing the picture & replacing it with a blank, but no luck. When I change it back to an "Official Race" it works fine however, which leads me to believe it is something I've done wrong in my homebrew. This isn't the first homebrew I have created & I keep trying to change other thing but I must be missing something.
Is adding the option to pick an additional language of your choice oddly difficult to set up for a custom race? Or am I just not finding the right way to do it?
I've been looking into this for you and honestly I can't recreate the error, but obviously you're getting an error as I can't access your character sheet either. My advice for the time being would be to delete the trait that gives spells and recreate it, since certain spells were known to give errors when homebrew races were released (I thought they were all fixed, but perhaps one or two slipped the net).
On a side note, setting them as Sorcerer spells means that only people playing that race as a Sorcerer will see them, in contrast with most racial spells which are not linked to a class, which I suspect may be your intention. You also don't need to specify it takes an action to cast them and so on if the spell usually only takes an action. I say this because perhaps entering less information will mean less chance of an error.
I hope this helps for now - I'll make some noise about this probable bug and see what we can do.
All you need to do is create a racial trait, save it, then click Add A Modifier (near the end of the page when editing the trait). When adding a modifier, select Language from the first dropdown box. This should give you a second dropdown box, where you can choose the 'Choose a Language' option. Save that, and that gives your race its choice of language!
I am trying to remove some homebrew race that I added to my collection. After searching for the race in the rest of the homebrew, it seems it was erased or taken away from being public. Because of this I cannot see the race details page nor can I remove it from my homebrew collection. When I press the race details page from the homebrew race I am trying to remove, the website informs me that the page could not be found. If anyone could help me with this, it would very much be appreciated.
Go to your Homebrew Collection. Click the + next to the homebrew race on the right-hand side. In the box that opens click the blue "remove from my collection" button. If this does not work then you have a bug and should report this via the Bugs and Support forum.
Hi there. I'm working on a homebrew paladin oath and I have a quick question on it. I see that in other published paladin oaths under the description where the Tenents of the Oath are listed it appears as if they are in set a different format from the other text. They seem to be surrounded by an outline of some sort that kinda reminds me of a sheet of paper or something. How do I go about adding that format to the text for my own personal Tenents for my paladin oath?

Hi Kharnov - what you're seeing is a blockquote. They appear like that in classes and races, just hit the quotation mark button (next to the Strikethrough button) in the text editor and enter your text.
Hi there, I was hoping to get some help with a homebrew issue.
Last year when we were allowed to make our own homebrew races I decided to give Fey'ri a shot. I always liked the concept from "The Last Mythal" books, so I gathered a bunch of info and put it together. It was a bit choppy, since home-brewing was new to me, and then I added subraces. Since Fey'ri are half fiend/elf I added the 4 elf sub races (Dark, Wood, High, and Eladrin), but was rejected since Eladrin is UA & Dark is paid content. Totally my mistake. I was told later that I could change the names & keep the same flavor, which was great! & I was able to publish the Feywild, Twilight, Forest, and NobleFey'ri (which my players loved).
I recently updated some subclass stuff (there was repeated text on the trait ability score section) and realized that the main Fey'ri homebrew page still had some Drow & Eladrin stuff in it from last year. I went in and tried to remove & clean it up but got a strange rejection on the race update (though the updates on the subraces were accepted).
I was wondering how to fix this. Is it that the link still shows the old Eladrin/Drow parts on your end? I know we had some issues with links not showing updated info last time. Is there something I should perhaps modify/change? or should I just delete the update & leave the older accepted version as it is?
Also, I wanted to ensure that those people who have added the race to their own homebrew collection/games to use, (a surprising amount), don't loose access to it because of my update screwup.
I would really appreciate your help/pointers to rectify this issue, as you guys have been awesomely helpful in the past.
Okay - something is 100% not working with that piece then - I'll shoot it across to the staff to take a look.

PS: I forgot to add. This is her character sheet normally using an "official race'.

Hi VillainTheory,
Thank you for the advise!
I deleted the spell traits, like you suggested, and input the spells again, (without the unnecessary extra info). It seems to be working great!
Thank you again!
See I knew there must be an easier way to do it, haha. Thanks for the tip!

Does it show under My Content - Homebrew Collection?
Yes it does
Oh I’m stupid. When I first read I thought you were trying to delete it, not access it. I’m not sure then what you would need to do.
Does it help to know that the username of the person that created the race is override367?
Go to your Homebrew Collection. Click the + next to the homebrew race on the right-hand side. In the box that opens click the blue "remove from my collection" button. If this does not work then you have a bug and should report this via the Bugs and Support forum.
