I'm having trouble with a Homebrew race I made. First of all, I accidentally listed Orc as a language that the race knew, but I meant to write Deep Speech. I only realized the error after the submission was approved. I don't want to bother the mods with a nearly-identical resubmission of the race. Is there any way I can change the description without having to resubmit?
Secondly, the race has a trait known as Exoskeleton: "When you aren't wearing armor, your AC equals 13 + your Dexterity modifier." How do I translate this into DNDBeyond's modifiers so that it calculates properly?

Modifier type: Set
Modifier subtype: Unarmored Armor Class
Fixed Value: 3
Interesting. How does the tortle's unarmored AC work, then?

VT, I that won't change anything! it just makes the Nelliadines super overpowered.
and SK, wouldn't that just make it so the unarmored AC is always 3?
Hi Black_Hat, my earlier post was in response to Matthias_von_Schwarzwald's here on your thread. This is how you could replicate a Tortle's AC, which is what he asked. I definitely do not recommend this for your own race in this instance!
As for what Stormknight suggested, it is actually correct! The way it works is that 10 is pre-set as the base AC of all player characters. Setting your Unarmored Armor Class to '3' effectively adds 3 to the base, pre-set 10 AC. That is to say, adding it correctly will get you the 13 AC + Dex modifier that you're aiming for.
We recommend users wait a short while before resubmitting homebrew, taking time to correct small mistakes, typos and the like, and thoroughly re-testing them on the character builder. Feel free to give Stormknight's advice a try there!
Ah, it seems I've encountered another problem. My race seemed way too weak, so I'm adding some more traits. One of them makes the Nelliadines immune to being surprised, but I looked in the immunity section of the modifiers and surprise immunity isn't an option. What should I do?

Take example from the Alert feat. I believe a character cannot be immune to surprise per-se, as there is always the case of being incapacitated that would make them easy to surprise (for obvious reasons). The easiest way is to list it just in written form, with no specific modifiers to it, just as Alert does.

Ah, that makes much more sense! Thank you very much!
