Or, if you need color to explain why a construct is still forced to move - "The whispers cause no damage, but the dissonance bends and distorts the construct's connection with the weave of magic that animates it. This distortion causes the equivalent of great discomfort to the construct and it mindlessly tries to avoid it."
Dissonant Whispers doesn't care if the target takes damage. If it fails the save and has its reaction left, it has to move.
Yup, pretty much that. DM could rule otherwise, but that's what the spell says and not because it causes fear or anything, it's just an effect of the spell.

Does a construct that is immune to physic damage that fails the save still need to move away from the caster.
