So, I hope this is in the right place! If not, I apologize. I make a lot of characters and I spend all this time trying to figure out which race will play best as a druid. Or what to pick if I want to play an Elf. So I decided to sit down and make a spreadsheet that gives a guide to all the classes and races within DnD. It doesn't include any of the unofficial stuff or critical role stuff, but hopefully it helps at least one person!
I used that based on the quick build the Ranger Class recommends! And as for Bards, they are proficient in "Simple weapons, hand crossbows, longswords, rapiers, shortswords", they get Scimitars as another proficiency when they become collage of the swords, but since you can use more than just the Scimitar, that's why Str. was included.
QUICK BUILD
You can make a ranger quickly by following these suggestions. First, make Dexterity your highest ability score, followed by Wisdom. (Some rangers who focus on two-weapon fighting make Strength higher than Dexterity.) Second, choose the outlander background.

No wonder rangers have such a bad reputation.

Don't be hating on strength dual wielders, it's not nice, and just because finesse ALLOWS you to use dex for attack rolls does not mean they have to. Completely optional.

I'm not hating on Str-based dual-wielders, I'm hating on single-class builds that require the Heavy Armor Master feat or multiclassing for decent AC.

Why does a dual-wielding ranger care about Str?

Also curious why a swords bard cares about Str. Scimitars are finesse.
Might I also recommend color coding:
Green = 3 skills apply
Yellow = 2 skills apply
Red = 1 skill applies
Grey = no skills apply
