Your origins are a mystery, even to yourself. What little you know of who you once were suggests your condition was no accident. You collect rumors, gossip, and hearsay to tell an tale in the making, and its up to you to finish it. What you uncover will be worth remembering, or best left forgotten.

Memento

You carry with you a reminder of your past, its purpose and significance unclear. It may hint at what you did, who you knew, or what's to come. Choose or randomly determine a memento that intimates some detail of your past.

Feature: Recollection

You vividly remember a scene that's hard to place in time. You may remember a tender moment between yourself and a loved one. You may remember feeling extreme grief for a traumatic event. You may have had a mundane interaction between yourself and a stranger. You may remember a strange event that was otherwise mundane at the moment.

Work with your DM to determine the details of your recollection and its impact on the campaign.

 
Suggested Characteristics

An amnesiac is, in a sense, without identity. While they maintain a personality, they cannot recall the memories and experiences that shape it. For this reason, amnesiacs tend to put great stock in instinct and intuition. They are usually open to any and all experiences, wanting to create new memories to make up for the lack thereof.

Variant Feature: Sleeper

The reason behind your condition may have been for espionage purposes, bypassing mind-probing magic by getting rid of any memories that would compromise your position. When the time comes, your identity will be revealed, whether you want it to or not.
