When you take the Attack action and attack with a light melee weapon that you're holding in one hand, you can use a bonus action to attack with a different light melee weapon that you're holding in the other hand. You don't add your ability modifier to the damage of the bonus attack, unless that modifier is negative.
I've noticed that the Two-Weapon Fighting feature is on all of my characters, even the characters that do not have this feature. Is this how it's supposed to be? I've looked in the rule books and can't find where all characters get the Two-Weapon Fighting feature. I wanted to ask in the BUGS & SUPPORT thread because it looks to me like a bug.
If I need to re-post this somewhere else, please let me know where.
Oh man... thanks for pointing out the custom thing! I didn't know you didn't get the second-hand bonus, I'm not great with all the D&D rules, but I just jumped in and reset my off-hand dagger. Much better!
If my character has DEX of 19 (+4 modifier for ranged weapon) and proficiency modifier of +2, my “Dominant-hand” (thrown) dagger should be +6 “To Hit” (Proficiency Modifier plus ability Modifier) and +4 to damage (ability modifier), whereas my “off-hand (thrown) dagger” should be +6 “To Hit” (Prof + Ability) but +0 to damage. Right?
However when I try to create a custom object/action for my off-hand dagger (Attack type: normal; Range: ranged; Stat: dex; Dice count: 1; die type: 4; Damage type: piercing; range: 20; Checked: proficient, dual-wield, display as attack; everything else left off/default), everything is correct (ie, shows +6 “to hit”, range 20, piercing damage, and can click it to roll my attack) EXCEPT the damage is shown as 1d4+4 (ie it has added my ability modifier to the damage, which is incorrect).
What am I doing wrong? How can I force my “off-hand” dagger’s damage to not include my ability modifier?

(Idea for enhancement: maybe DnD Beyond could add an “Attack Type” of “Normal (off-hand)” which could provide some of these settings as shortcuts)
Do you have the two weapon fighting style from a class feature?
You don't need to create a custom action. You pick a weapon eligible to use for your 'off-hand' strike and customize the weapon with the 'dual wield' checkbox. It will then automatically show up as a bonus action attack with the correct to-hit and damage stats.

And "two weapon fighting style" is different from "two weapon fighting." WotC just went out of their way to name things as confusingly as possible. The fighting style is a class feature of fighters and rangers (also a feat) and lets you add your damage mod back.

Just wonder why DnD Beyond added Two-Weapon Fighting to my Ranger at level one, since I only can choose that at level 2?
Fighting with two weapons is a standard combat action that all characters can do.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
I've merged two posts with the same query - please see the answer above.

Not a bug, it is intended.
All the character, if holding two light weapons, can do the two-weapon fighting.
OK, I learned something today. Thanks for the knowledge.
Is there any way to get rid of it though? Or is it just there?
It's just there because any character with 2 light weapons can use it. I believe any class can use 2 daggers.
You can't get rid of it anymore than you can get rid of the unarmed strike. It is the only universal bonus action.
How do you get D&D Beyond to not add a strength or dex bonus to the damage roll?

Click on the weapon that will be the one used for the bonus action attack. Open the 'customize' section, and click the checkbox for 'dual wield.'

I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)

Two weapon fighting style is a feature of all classes in 5e (ref: https://www.dndbeyond.com/compendium/rules/basic-rules/combat#TwoWeaponFighting)
No. Two weapon fighting is. Two weapon fighting style lets you add your ability score modifier to off hand attacks.

Just do this:

THANK you! That is two very important pieces of information I was confused on. Thank you good sir!
