DIVINE FURY Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can channel divine fury into your weapon strikes. While you’re raging, the first creature you hit on each of your turns with a weapon attack takes extra damage equal to 1d6 + half your barbarian level. The extra damage is necrotic or radiant; you choose the type of damage when you gain this feature.
I believe that is the first time you hit the creature. No matter how many attacks you do in a turn, it will count only the first time that you will hit the creature.
I agree, although maybe my interpretation is slightly different. It doesn't say your attack does extra damage, it says "the first creature you hit on each of your turns .. takes extra damage". So while it's obviously triggered by hitting it, it's not that your attack does extra damage, it's that the creature takes additional damage. I believe if the intent was that your first attack did extra damage, it would be worded as such. So in effect, it's not that it only adds damage to the first attack, it's that it deals extra damage to the creature.

Does divine fury work with all attacks against a creature if it’s the only one you attack on your turn?
My DM seems to think so and I’m not one for nerfing myself but I definitely want to go by the book and keep things fair.
