I joined a decent into Avernus campaign. I started with a zariel tiefling. 16 str, 10 dex, 14 con, 8 int, 10 wisdom, 16 charisma. I will be wearing heavy armor.
I was thinking about doing a PAM build with Oath or the Ancients. I am wanting to be mounted but max out my aura. Should I go hexblade, bard, or sorceror. Need suggestions for ASI progression. If I should or shouldn't get sentinel.
Should I not do PAM, and since I didn't go human.
Party makeup is fighter, ranger, warlock, wizard, bard, monk, barbarian.
I wouldn’t multiclass. The party already has all the good multiclasses for Paladin, and if you multiclass with them, you’re just gonnna do what they do, but worse. Go a straight Paladin to be a tank and a healer. But if you must multiclass, go hexblade.
disagree on you'll just be doing what they are doing. IMO best reason to multi class is more smites. You get that through bard or sorcerer and IMO for combat power sorcerer is better. Bard better for social role play, but you already have a Bard so.... Booming blade and quicken spell can make a paladin really rock and still feel totally like a paladin.
Personally I love sentinel more than an ASI. I hate my enemies getting away. Warcaster next. Sword and board because your damage doesn't rely on the weapon die, and more AC...
There are numerous strength boosting magic items in the game and of all the ability boosters I find them the most common to find. Your fighter will already probably have 18 strength by the time you find one and be willing to let you have it.

For your ASI, I would put a single boost into strength for a better modifier, than max out constitution and charisma.
