Let’s say I’m a paladin and I reach level 8. I’m playing as a Vhuman and chose the crusher perk at level one. have a 16 in strength, 14 in constitution, and 18 in charisma. The large charisma is there because I am roleplaying as an oath of redemption paladin. I also took tge defense feat because I decided it would probably be more useful then blessed warrior.
Now that I am at level 8 I need to buff my character. With the following stats considered, what should I do next? Max charisma? Raise strength? Or constitution? Or maybe I should forgo that and take a constitution/tanky feat like tough or resilient.
hell, maybe at level 8 or 9 I could multi class if there is any benefit there. Maybe like bard or a spell caster or something. Bard might be fun idk. Maybe I’m overthinking things way too much.
Second, I’d say don’t plan it, something may happen in game to make you change your mind.
Third, be really careful with multiclassing, done poorly you end up with a weaker character overall. Think about what you are trying to get from the multiclass. And remember that as a pally, if you’re sword and board, you won’t have a free hand for casting many spells. That might actually argue for warcaster at 8. Another reason not to overplan.

Very well said! I’ve never thought of it that way. I definitely got carried away and was in over my head with this stuff. Thanks for helping realize.
