I just spotted that divine smite (unusually for a smite spell) has a somatic component.
Surely it can’t be the design intent that it’s off limits to paladins with shields or dual wielding unless they have war caster?
And you cast it “immediately after hitting a target”.
Would you consider that to mean you can’t stow/drop a weapon to get a free hand between hitting and casting?
Oh wait… it doesn’t have a somatic component in the book, but it does if you look up the spell.
Seems to be an error then.
