So spoilers for those who haven't looked at the Wayfarer's Guide to Eberron...
Variant elf in there has the Valenar elves being able to use a double-scimitar. A cool double-weapon that is a two-handed weapon, does 2d4 damage, and as a bonus action can do an attack for 1d4 damage (like two-weapon fighting, but add the ability modifier for free). Seems okay on its own, but...
There's a feat available, Revenant Blade. It makes the weapon a finesse weapon, +1 AC while wielding it, and ups bonus attack to 2d4 as well. Anyone else thinking of playing ninja-assassins with big curved blades? Since it's a two-handed weapon, you can also benefit from two-handed weapon abilities, like a fighting style to reroll the first 1s and 2s on the die. Kinda a silly idea, but want to see what other mad rogues can be done with this :-p

I myself think I dunno on the weapon, but it does have a potential as a weapon for a Bladesinger Wizard to me more then a rogues weapon. As the only way you can surpise attack with the weapon is having the feat as that gives the weapon Finesse.
Wayfinder's guide gave me an idea for a less stabby rogue. If you play a Kalashtar Inquisitive Rogue, you can make Psychic Glamour give you advantage on all insight checks, plus you get advantage on WIS saving throws through Dual mind, and you have telepathy! This paired with the Inquisitive abilities, allows you to be an ultimate Sherlock. You will also destroy in combat because you will have advantage for your insightful fighting.
