I've been given a week of downtime, and trying to figure out what I could do in that time period.
Feel free to make some suggestions! I'm currently level 6.
Sorry, to clarrify more (Was in a bit of a rush). I'm a player that loves to do stuff out of combat as well as in. So far the warlock has been great in combat, but doing stuff out hasn't been too easy.
Basically I'm proficient in Arcana, Insight, investigation and religion, with a high charisma. Ideally I want to try and work of my high charisma and intelligence.
I'm thinking about starting a town library, and going all indiana jones on this stuff (a lot of role play potential). I'm CG, so it could tie in well. Otherwise, I'm going to end up becoming a politician :D
What would you do?
I'm also thinking of trying to get some performance and persuasion going. If I wasn't CG I'd probs end up gambling a lot... :S
Ugh...library? Are you also going to read children’s stories every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon? Perhaps provide a healthy balanced snack? A town library sounds wizardy and terrible. Other terrible ideas? Open a safe and loving orphanage or run a bakery that makes only organic fair trade dog bones. Why not start farmers market?
You are a warlock. Time to do warlocky things. I think gambling and carousing is a great idea. I don’t see any issue with your chaotic good alignment. Actually that sounds perfect!
Other ideas? Maybe learn to play the pan flute or learn an exotic and weird language. Build a custom ***** caravan. Find a spellcaster to make you a clone. Get some *****in’ tattoos!
The library sounds like a great idea to me. With a section titled "advanced" which has a sign that reads "do not feed the books," "scream if you need help with a book," and "do not listen to the whispers, you have been warned."
I don’t think it’s reasonable to think you could open a library or become a politician in a week. With more time, yes, but with just a week, maybe focus on more fleeting topics for the downtime

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
A week isn't long enough to train new skills and if you're not crafting, doing social things like opening a library sounds like a fun idea! Is there one in town that is in desperate disrepair? Or maybe an NPC who has yearned to make a library for years but hasn't had the skill or resources to do so? Are your other party members interested in helping?
I would suggest looking for NPCs who share your goal and can maintain and build on the progress you make during the week. Maybe you spend the time collecting books or finding a building for the library. Or maybe, since you're proficient in arcana, copy down spells and spell scrolls either to sell (for funds) or to put on your shelves.
AK30 has a good idea. Selling spell scroll rituals to get money for the library is great! And if you want to get into politics, that’s a great way to gain Good will in the community.

Yeah it woudln't happen in a week :D But it'd start then.
Our party is actually collecting a lot of books, currently my character is reading a Fiends info book :D
I just thought it was a quirky idea.
And yeah, our DM doesn't really do much with 'carousing'.
Now that I think of it, librarians are pretty creepy...lol
