Bladesinger's features are all useful as well. While the level 6 feature is clearly designed to be used in melee, it's certainly useful at range. light crossbow is an option when not bladesinging. Sling is an option at all levels times. Handcrossbow is an option for any character that can pick up proficiency; mostly easily done as a drow or an elf or other race that gets a racial proficiency by trading in another weapon to get a hand xbow using Tasha's rules at all times
Thrown weapons such as daggers and darts are also on the table, should one go that route. Basically from range, it's a free attack. If you were going to cast a cantrip ANYWAYS, you might as well use a ranged weapon of some flavor or another to just get the free weapon attack in. Whether it's a d4 from a sling or a d8 from a light xbow or anything in between, a free attack is a free attack.
Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.

It is very similar to potent cantrip of the evoker in that sense. It is a feature that lets their cantrip do a bit more damage. It isn't amazing, it is some banger feature, but its useful.I consider both kind of dud levels, in that the usefulness is pretty limited. When not casting a real spell you do a few points more damage is really meh. But even meh is useful here and there.
