I would be running a hardcover campaign(HotDq) for my party using Adventure league rules.
I am wondering about DM rewards. In the dm guild i understand that there is a formula for exp gold and down time. But what about magical items? If the party finds a magical item like broom of flying, am i also able to acquire it?
Totally different question, can i run any of the hardcover books using Adventures league rules and still have the pc AL legal?
General DM rewards (rewards for actually running the game) only provide XP, Gold, and Downtime. Check out the season 7 DM quests as those provide additional rewards for doing different things. Specifically, one of the quests (Dedicated DM) is for running 24 hours, in which you can award one of your characters a magic item you awarded to your PCs in that 24 hours. There's other rewards for running sets of modules, a chapter of the hardcover (Tomb of Annihilation), and running the entire hardcover among many others.
Yep, you can run any AL legal adventure (all the WoTC hardcovers, along with each season DDAL adventures along with select other Guild Adept titles on DM's Guild) as an AL legal game, as long as the characters are all AL legal, using the base rules (no homebrew).
