Adventurers League characters sometimes get access to weird stuff. With AL support on the roadmap, I thought it would be helpful to compile a list of the character options that can currently only be homebrewed on a D&D Beyond character, but are, in fact, AL-legal. WARNING: links to adventures contain SPOILERS!
1. Blessings. There's at least one AL-legal adventure that offers permanent blessings, but there's no way I know of to add them to a D&D Beyond character without homebrewing it.
2. Non-standard magic items, such as the treasures listed here, here, and here. None of these are in the D&D Beyond magic item database, yet all are AL-legal magic items. They can currently only be added to a character sheet by creating them as homebrews.
3. Standard magic items with specific variations. I'm looking at you, necklace of prayer beads. For the necklace specifically, it's not enough to know you own the necklace; you need to know which beads your specific necklace has. The only way to do this in D&D Beyond is by creating a homebrew copy. Similarly, there are many AL-legal magic items that have additional effects to those listed in the compendium entry. Those, too, must currently be homebrewed in. And while I'm on the subject, the only way to currently create a spell scroll that has a specific spell on it is by creating it as homebrew content.
4. Story Award abilities. There's a lot of them. The ones that might cause a problem down the road are the ones that interact with downtime. I have a "+5 gp for every downtime day spent" story award; there's another common one that gives you 90 days of not having to spend lifestyle costs when you spend downtime. If you're going to have auto-calculating AL log sheets, be aware that certain story awards can mess with those calculations.
Anything else I'm not thinking of? I'd like to see this post pinned, so we can have an easy reference of what's needed for full AL character support.
