1) Placeholder text in <input> elements shouldn't be the only place where formatting requirements are shown.
I just got stuck trying to make a purchase because I typed my Expiration Date as MM/YY. As soon as text is entered into an <input> element, the placeholder text disappears. If there's a formatting requirement, that text should be included in the <label> element instead (see screenshot below)
2) The error message I encountered when trying to make a purchase was not helpful enough. It just said there was an error on the form but it didn't highlight WHICH element was a problem.
