After DMing for over a year I thought it was time to use more minis in our campaign and to actually paint them, until now we've mostly been using printed tokens for enemies.
Having never painted anything like this before I brought the Reaper learn to paint set and made a start on this gladiator.
I'm pretty pleased with the outcome but theres a lot to improve on. I'm now washing them in soapy water and removing mould lines before painting, and using hot water to reshape bent parts for starters.
We are currently playing Tomb of Annihilation and this mini was used for Shago, a gladiator with beef with one of the player characters - the two faced down in a bloody battle to the death in the colossium - Shago 's bloody now staining the sandy ground.

Looks great, especially for your first time, good work!
